Hôtel du Couvent, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Nice, France

High-class and elegant, with very attentive service. The breakfast was fit for a king! The back garden is well worth a visit, and the gate even has a thoughtful little device to keep children safe.

Everything else was good, but this Rome bath was just average.

We took a taxi to the hotel, but still needed the hotel shuttle to pick us up from where we were dropped off. It would have been quite a struggle to walk up with luggage. The location is really excellent, very convenient for both the beach and the viewpoint up top. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. We received welcome drinks and snacks, and our luggage was delivered to our room. The overall style of the room was nice, and the room key card was quite unique. Breakfast wasn't a buffet; it was a set menu. The portions were a bit large, making it hard for one person to finish, but the taste was great. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Overall, I'm quite disappointed. I was looking for a peaceful environment, but the whole hotel felt like a trendy influencer spot and was incredibly noisy. The hygiene was terrible; out of three nights, the sheets were dirty twice, which is a basic standard that should be met. It made sleeping very uncomfortable. I gave feedback to the hotel, and they did apologize sincerely, but I really hope they can get it right from the beginning rather than apologizing afterward, because whether they apologize or not, the experience is already ruined.

My friend and I booked the same room type for the same price, but we were assigned two completely different rooms at different prices—and they were tiny… The staff even said I'd get a nice room… while my friend was upgraded to a large suite… I was speechless! If you're staying in the original monastery building… the whole corridor felt eerie… I really wanted to cancel my booking on the spot and deeply regretted it.

I emailed a week in advance to inform them of our 5th anniversary, but when I arrived at the hotel, there was no decoration. I asked the guy who helped me check in if there were any small cakes or anything, and he agreed, but there were none when I got back to my room that night. During turndown service, we knocked on the door to ask for drinking water, but it never came by the time I fell asleep. I didn't experience any of the so-called butler service.
