"The whole property is very beautiful and designed in a charming, museum-like style. There’s a small bar available for guests, free coffee, and a terrace where you can sit in the morning and enjoy the surroundings. The staff are genuinely kind and helpful, and at first it really feels like you’ve arrived at a special, characterful place.
Unfortunately, the magic disappeared as soon as we got to the rooms. My friends were given a room on the ground floor, closed with a huge wooden latch, and I got a single room right next to them. Both rooms were small and had no windows, and in my room the shower drain most likely had no proper trap installed, because there was a constant sour sewage smell that never really went away.
But the worst part came later. The thin wooden walls offer practically zero sound insulation. I could hear literally every word from the neighbouring rooms, as if people were standing right next to my bed. The night-time return of the guests staying above us sounded like a daily tornado passing through the house. It was such a surreal experience that it honestly felt like something taken straight out of a comedy sketch.
I can agree that this place has its own style and atmosphere, and I understand why some people might find it “authentic” or “unique”. However, after one night here, I find it much easier to understand people sleeping in treehouses in Khao Sok than those who would consciously choose to stay here again."
