Martinique New York on Broadway, Curio Collection by Hilton

I always stay at this hotel whenever I'm in New York because of its convenient location and excellent facilities and services. It's right above Koreatown, which is great for anyone who loves Korean food, and the subway station makes getting anywhere a breeze. The gym is also perfect for maintaining my workout routine while on business trips. This year, I noticed the hotel lobby has been renovated and is much brighter, and while the exterior is still under construction, it doesn't impact the stay. The lobby has also introduced a new restaurant (Carnegie Diner). My friends and I had planned to go for a run in Central Park on Sunday morning, so we looked for a brunch spot nearby. Since this restaurant is very popular and it's currently World Cup season, my friend made a reservation in advance. But when I checked in, I realized the hotel had also brought in this restaurant. Pictures three and four are from the one we ate at near Central Park – it was excellent, and I highly recommend trying it. You can even share a dish if you find the portions too big. Then, right across from the hotel downstairs, I spotted the bright red storefront of Mixue Ice Cream & Tea. I heard it opened last year and it's incredibly popular; there's always a queue whenever I pass by! So, I highly recommend this hotel when you visit NYC, as they are continuously improving!

Even for New York, where hotels are notoriously expensive and small, this one was an absolute rip-off. It's located in Koreatown, and when I arrived, the entire hotel entrance was covered in scaffolding. I walked past it twice without even noticing! When I finally checked in, they charged me a $75 'resort fee' and an internet fee. 'Resort' is a strong word for this place, I tell you. The room itself was tiny, dim, and damp. The two already small windows were covered in dust, and outside was just green netting and scaffolding. Even on Hilton Honors, there was no indication of how bad this hotel was or any related discounts. It was really subpar.

I was dropping off my child for school, and since the apartment wasn't cleaned yet, I stayed at a nearby hotel for two nights to get things sorted. The location on Korea Street is unbeatable – it's super lively, and during the back-to-school season, there were tons of young people staying at the hotel. The breakfast area on the first floor exceeded my expectations by a long shot! 👍👍

I chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to Madison Square Garden for a concert. From the description, I thought it was a new hotel, but it's actually an old one that's been renovated. The facade still had scaffolding, and it was even hard to find the entrance.
