I was searching for a hotel near Newark Airport for a layover, specifically one that allowed guests aged 18 and over and provided a free shuttle service. While it was a bit pricey, including rates and breakfast for two, I chose this hotel, considering the extra cost a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind it offered. Many hotels require guests to be 21 or older to check in, but this one permitted 18+ (even for solo travelers).
The free shuttle between the airport and the hotel is scheduled to run every 20 minutes. However, the shuttle from the airport to the hotel was quite delayed, and I waited for about an hour. Upon arrival, check-in was smooth.
My room was spacious and clean, with amenities that were more than sufficient to help me relax and unwind; it was truly a lovely space. Breakfast was a standard American spread, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport was crowded, so I booked a taxi instead. This hotel was so excellent that I almost regretted my stay was so brief.

The room itself is actually great value for money, but the facilities are basic. There's no paid drinking water in the room, and you have to go to the second floor to buy it, which is really inconvenient. Downstairs, there's a place to store luggage, but not overnight. The location is convenient; it's a 5-6 minute walk to the Charging Bull, and you can easily walk to the New York Stock Exchange and other financial areas. There's a subway entrance directly across from the hotel, with at least four platforms nearby, which is very handy. It's also close to the South Ferry. If you buy a New York City unlimited weekly subway pass, getting around is super easy from here.

The hotel was generally very clean. The location, I suppose like everywhere else in Manhattan, was constantly noisy with car horns and the unsettling sounds of police and ambulance sirens. The hotel staff were certainly friendly, but that's not quite the same as being efficient. The front desk area was unusually small. Perhaps it was due to the peak season, but there was a continuous overflow of people checking in and out, and no one was managing the queue. As a result, some less attentive individuals had to wait forever for their turn, which made me think, 'Only in America.' The power outlet in my room was faulty, and my phone didn't charge overnight. I only realized it when my phone was about to die while I was out the next day, which caused a panic. When I returned and informed the hotel, they replaced it immediately. However, it seemed like they were only replacing them as complaints came in, which made me wonder about their maintenance policy. Also, perhaps it's standard practice everywhere in NYC, but storing luggage after check-out cost $5 per bag.

Room was really small. Very strong stench of ********* everyday in the walkway from the lift to my room. Also, the AC/heater vent is extremely loud and would buzz all night. Definitely not for light sleepers unless you’re fine with white noise in the background. There are four lifts but they’re really slow and there’s always a long queue for lifts especially during peak hours. You might have to wait 1-3 lifts before it’s your turn. Never seen this at other hotels.
Pros were that the TV could connect to Netflix seamlessly. Room had a coffee machine that could double up as a hot kettle. Great Crabtree & Evelyn shower amenities. Room was clean. Reception and housekeeping also rectified issues quickly and were extremely courteous and helpful.

It was clean and well located, but
I was assigned to a room where the window was completely blocked by a machine,
so I couldn't open the window the whole time I was there,
and there was no ventilation, and no light came in, so it was hard to tell if it was day or night.
We enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Long Island. The location is decent, with the nearest train station about 11–15 minutes away. The front desk staff were pleasant and always willing to help as much as they could.
Housekeeping could be more consistent with replenishing tissues and checking that the body wash is refilled. The noise from the nearby industrial area can be a bit distracting at times, but overall our stay was okay.
This hotel offers a very convenient location, especially for those driving. It's situated right off the highway, making it incredibly easy to access. A heads-up for other travelers: this prime location does mean you can encounter some traffic noise during peak hours, but it's a fair trade-off for the easy access.
The service was consistently nice and helpful throughout my stay.
Overall, it was a functional stay with a great location.
Very quiet, clean and tidy, the staff is nice, the location is good, the greenery is great, the parking lot is large, and the swimming and fitness facilities are complete. It's very good and I will stay again
The location is super good, just across the street from Maddison Square, there are many shops to eat and buy nearby, and Times Square is only a 15 minute walk. Manhattan's central location is very good value for money at this price point. I booked a double room, Queen size bed mattress is softer, I personally no problem. The facilities are acceptable, after all, it is a big brand hotel. Will consider staying next time.
Somehow convenient location near the light rail station and within walking distance from the PATH station. The establishment is not a fancy new one but good enough to stay for a short time. Surprisingly Hilton decided their free waters are only for silver members (and tiers above), guess time to say goodbye to Hilton.

Very Good
SShuozoujiuzoudekaiwenThis hotel boasts a great location with easy access to transportation, and the shuttle service to LaGuardia Airport is a definite plus. My overall experience was fantastic. Firstly, the front desk staff were incredibly professional and welcoming, making check-in a breeze and instantly putting me at ease. The room itself was spacious and well-arranged, with a perfectly soft and comfortable bed. The cleanliness was impeccable, with attention to detail evident – no strange odors or dust anywhere. Restaurants, shops, and public transportation were all easily accessible nearby. My only minor suggestion would be to offer a wider variety of breakfast options, but overall, it's excellent value for money and highly recommended. I would definitely consider staying here again.
