The location is great, just a 2-3 minute walk downhill from the 7-Eleven in Jiufen Old Street. We swapped our shoes for slippers at the entrance and stored our shoes in a locker. The staff were very kind and spoke a little Japanese, which was helpful. We had booked a room with a view, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and clean, and they even provided bottled water. There's also a tea corner at reception where you can make yourself a drink to take back to your room.
Breakfast starts at 8 AM and included Hung Rui Chen sandwiches, ********* braised pork (served hot!), waffles, a fruit platter, and drinks. We opted for soy milk and milk tea. The sandwiches were lightly warmed, the braised pork was piping hot, and the waffles seemed freshly made – they were warm and delicious! Check-out at 11 AM was super easy; we just left the key at the front desk (a bit nerve-wracking, but it worked!).
Just a few things to note: there's no elevator, no conditioner provided, and you can't flush toilet paper. All in all, staying overnight in busy Jiufen was a really special experience. I would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you!
