Super 8 by Wyndham Mt Pleasant

Mount Pleasant
I stayed at the Super 8 (1000 N. Grand Ave., Mount Pleasant, IA 52641) in room #112 on the one night of Wednesday, 3 August 2022. The 2-story motel has an appealing exterior and a clean lobby. My reservation was on file and was processed efficiently. Because of no elevator, I asked for and was given a first-floor room with no one above. The motel's luggage cart had no hooks for hanging small bags. The lobby has a modern public computer -- a much-appreciated boon. The very clean room had a 3-drawer dresser, flat-screen TV, desk + rolling chair, stuffed armchair, nightstand with one electrical outlet, in-room safe, microwave, mini-fridge/freezer, and coffeemaker. The one electrical outlet on the wall was 3 feet off the ground with no furniture nearby on which to set plug-in appliances. The King bed had 4 half-sized pillows. The room had only 2 lamps and was VERY dim; I couldn't work well at the desk or read newspapers while lying on the bed. Water pressure from all bath fixtures was excellent. The sink faucet was reversed (cold to the left, hot to the right). The shower produced either a strong narrow jet or a wide wimpier flow. There was initially no cold water in the shower -- it was either scalding or would make one sweat when exiting the shower. The exceptionally nice desk clerk (Mike) immediately came to investigate, and the shower performed appropriately for him. The bathroom had a hair-dryer, 2 small soaps, shampoo, conditioner (yes!), 3 FULL-SIZED bath towels (hoorah!), 3 hand towels, & 3 washcloths. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Mike helped me turn on the public computer in the lobby. I commend this motel for its bath linens, conditioner, public computer, and outstanding customer service. I respectfully suggest that a better luggage cart be procured, room lighting be improved, a different shower head be considered, the shower temperature in #112 be investigated, the sink hoses in #112 be reversed, and Mike be given a raise. I recommend that you consider staying at this Super 8 if you're stopping in Mount Pleasant.
