We stayed here the last week in October for 1 week for a friends wedding. The hotel and room was clean but the bed wasn’t very comfy. Both me and my hubby had restless nights and woke in the morning with aching backs. Our room overlooked the square which was beautiful. If you had the window closed then you couldn’t hear any noise. The room has an espresso coffee machine with both normal coffee and decaf coffee pods supplied. Unfortunately We weren’t a fan of the breakfast. You are given a time when you can go for brekkie, ours was 9:30 till 10. Even though they do too the food up, we found the hot food cold and the eggs dried up. We ate out for brekkie on a couple of occasions. The hotel did however, put on a beautiful wedding with a gorgeous setting. The wedding food was lovely too. Would we go back to this hotel? Probably as it was reasonably priced and the location on the balcon d’europe was perfect.

Firstly, I had booked this hotel and only afterwards realised that the main entertainment area, Plaza Tutti Frutti is located on the next street. However, my fears were unwarranted as ,while it is on the next street, the Plaza is on a side street at the end of it and no noise can be heard from it at the hotel. Now to review of hotel. It is very clean, the staff whether reception, security guards, cleaners and breakfast staff were very friendly, approachable and always glad to help. Breakfast is included and the food was top drawer quality. It was a buffet selection of English breakfast items, Spanish breakfast items, various juices, cereals, bread where you toast and add a selection of toppings and various cakes. As to the room, there are two types, interior and exterior. I was in an interior one and the window view was a wall. The room had a lot of space for storing clothes and a safe where you didn't need to pay for as you do in other hotels. There was also a TV that had a lot of channels in various languages including English. The bathroom was excellent with plenty of space and a shower which again was spacious. I had said the room I stayed in had only a wall as a window view. On top of the roof of the hotel has a pool and sunbeds. I didn't use it but had only went up to look at it. It didn't have a bar but had plenty of beds and if you are into that sort of thing, it will more than compensate for the room window view if you take an interior room. The hotel is in a great location where it is about a ten minute walk from the beach and another ten minute walk from the town square where all the restaurants and bars are located. It is a great hotel in a great hotel location has perfect for a stay in Nerja.

When we checked in we were very disappointed with one of the superior rooms we had been allocated. This was quickly sorted and we were offered an alternative room which was more to our liking due to the lovely view and easy access to the pool. Breakfast was fine but more choice of cereal would of been nice. Some areas of the hotel needed a little TLC and a good dust but for the price we paid we never expected luxury. Spent time round the lovely pool area but it was difficult to relax due to the loud noise a nearby manhole cover made every time a car drove over it. Happy hour each day from 5 until 9 was great and each afternoon we enjoyed a couple of drinks before getting ready for the evening. Staff were very friendly and it was always service with a smile. On our last night we ate in the hotel restaurant and I have to say the food and service was outstanding and extremely reasonable. We really enjoyed our time at this hotel and for us the location was great. Despite a few little niggles we would definitely return if we ever visit Nerja again.

First time in Spain, we stayed for 10 days at the Hotel and I cannot fault the service, service, rooms, cleaning, bars, and staff. Made my visit very memorable and we will be returning again. A small selection of books was also available, which I used well. A big thank you to Ruben for his attentive service and fantastic cocktail making , ask him for a Mojito, and David for always making us smile

The hotel has been a wonderful experience. The hotel makes you a lot of details when you arrive, you have unlimited free coffee and tea and you are given a lot of lotus cookies. There is even a small merendy. The rooms smell great and everything is clean, careful very much for details. nice and careful workers. On the other hand, modernity of lights, internet TVs, led lights ... Has been surprised. The hotel is very close to the city centre and you can walk without problems anywhere.
Hotel Puerta del Mar

The location of the hotel is ideal. Right in the middle of Nerja yet down an alleyway so that it feels off the beaten track. The hotel was kind to point out some free parking options but we chose paid parking nearby. So many restaurants and shops just around the corner as is the Balcon de Europa This hotel is listed as a 3 star but is spotlessly clean (like everywhere we stayed in Spain). There is a small pool on the roof with enough places for people to sunbathe - some shade or umbrellas would have been a nice addition. The room was modern and offered all amenities. Breakfast was a decent selection. Excellent value on their nightly rates. Staff are friendly and helpful. This was a great choice for Nerja and we look forward to returning! Highly recommended!
