Stayed for a few nights with my husband and dog. We received an email a few days before giving us a more suitable postcode for the hotel and it worked a treat. Great location - easy to get to A1(M) and A66. It's half an hour away from the beach at Redcar. We stayed during the heatwave and we absolutely baked, as you do in every other Travelodge. There was a fan but it just wafted hot air at us. We had two plastic key cards but one of them never worked, even after it had been reprogrammed. There's a Morrisons and a brick train sculpture within walking distance. Toby Carvery next door is very handy.

Pleasant and comfortable stay friendly staff who are very helpful and comfortable rooms and facilities and the free parking is very convenient and being just off the A1 also convenient whilst being spitting distance from Catterick, and can’t say enough staff are brilliant.

So we were on a coach trip, only 37 of us so not a huge party. I'm sure they took great fun in winding me up, but it's not funny when you're a paying guest. Now OK this might seem petty but we only had 4 meals and 3 out of them had ”issues”. A) The meal on the Friday night - no water was offered, I had to ask. Now you'd say ”so what” wouldn't you? But not when the Member of Staff decided to give everyone else water and walked by our table twice and didn't ask. I had to. B) The breakfast on Saturday - we were told to go in the room we had been in the night before. So I started to go into the ”room we were in the night before - and Saturday night”. ”No, you're in this one” (different room altogether”, went to use the coffee machine only to be told ”No, don't use that, I'll be bringing coffee into your room in a few minutes” - no he didn't, 10 people all used the coffee machine until I realised I could have had mine when I first went in, can someone please explain what that was all about.... C) The meal on Saturday - bearing in mind we had only 1 hour 15 minutes to eat our meal and then head out. My main didn't turn up!!! 10 minutes after everyone else had been served, my Mum went in. They had FORGOTTEN TO COOK IT, it wasn't even on the side waiting to be handed out. Then to make matters even better, when the member of staff came and put it in front of me, I got ”mind the plate, it's hot”. Erm, well thank you for apologising for the ”we didn't bother cooking it”, only got an apology when I happened to mention it.

Have stayed in this hotel at weekends for the last four months as our daughter is in hospital in Middlesbrough. Honesty you could not pick a better hotel, the rooms are always fauless, and I mean cleaned to perfection. The best part of the hotel is undoubtedly the staff, they really are first rate, always friendly and have a smile for everyone, they are the ones who go the extra mile for the guests and always make your stay an enjoyable one. So if your looking for a hotel that is spotless, this really is a great choice. Too many staff to mention individually, but we can't speak highly enough about you.
