Hotel Rea

DO NOT STAY HERE: from a dirty and mouldy room to a threatening and scary host. I am a solo female traveler and I had the worst nightmare experience here I’ve ever had. The bed sheets were stained and yellow in the middle with the odd hair, the pillows were either rock solid or so lumpy you could see it through the case. And the bathroom had hairs on the sink and dried wee on the toilet seat. Like they had forgotten to clean. Further more the air-con was mouldy and thus not usable. When I complained to the host about it being dirty when I arrived the night prior and mostly to mention the air con. I was then shouted at and called “a lier” over and over again. Before the host took me to show him (I had used wet wipes to make it useable so the dirt was no longer there but still obvious). I felt very unsafe as he screamed at me telling me I was a lier and that I “needed to be carful of what I said as I was by myself”. He proceeded to try take my passport off me and once I locked him out of the room he unlocked the door and came back in. This happened multiple times. He then proceeded to make me pay €100 for a €70 one night stay as I had to get out of there (supposed to be 2 nights). He took my passport details and tried to call the police and threatened to call the British embassy “to give me trouble at the boarder”. All as I complained about a room that was dirty and frankly un useable.

bad experience with the owners. took my passport and would not give it back until i checked out. they also tried to scam me so that they got double the amount of money they were supposed to. the place itself was okay but i would not stay here again, especially as someone from another country. the hotel seemed to be unorganized and did not look dirty but it felt dirty.
