Hotel Nikko Nara

Nara
Overall it was a great experience, so I gave it 5 stars🌟! Let’s talk about the advantages first: 1. The wood used in the interior decoration of the hotel is very natural, minimalist with a touch of luxury, giving people a very comfortable feeling☺️ 2. The outdoor hot spring pool experience is also very good, with beautiful scenery. It would be better if the tank could be larger. Otherwise, 2-3 people living in a room would not be able to experience it in 50 minutes. This is not very user-friendly. You are only given 50 minutes depending on the number of people, and the tank is too small so only one person can go in and soak in. Others have to wait outside, and couples cannot enjoy it at the same time. 🥺🥺🥺 3. In addition, the food is pretty good. Drinks are not included. There are not many amazing flavors. The first cold dish is the best. 4. The night view of Mt. Wakakusa is great, I must like this! The hotel will drive you up the mountain to see it👍 Let’s talk about the points that need to be improved: 1. The hotel service is a bit embarrassing, and the attitude is excellent, but there are always some indescribable feelings of inconsistency, such as kneeling service during check-in, and dining activities in the back. The waiter who checks you in does not even remember your last name and where you are. There are only a few rooms in the hotel (not for such a small-scale boutique B&B with few rooms), and there are obvious traces of the process. He also said that he would help to ask if there is any space in the private hot spring the next morning, but nothing was said. 🐶 2. The pillows on the bed in the room are very uncomfortable and too high. There is no difference between the two pillows as they are high. There is no choice. Be careful of stiff neck. 👴 3. The included dinner does not include drinks and menu upgrades, which need to be ordered separately, but we did not order them. When we checked out, the waitress came to ask us for payment. When we expressed confusion, she asked us if we had ordered dinner. Extra drinks. Please, don’t you keep track of whether guests order or not? Wouldn't it be rude to ask guests to confirm the check-out time themselves? 🙁 4. After observing the guests who stayed that day, basically the majority were Chinese (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), followed by a few European, American and Japanese guests. However, the hotel did not have a Chinese-speaking waiter. In addition to Japanese, it was Japanese-style English that was forced to recite words. I want to say that although you can communicate in English, but if you can't speak it, are you really respecting the Chinese guests by talking like a duck throughout the process? After all, it is extremely difficult to communicate like this. Some Japanese people cannot understand the English they speak. I wonder how the hotel has no Chinese-speaking waiters when there are so many Chinese guests and they even open Weibo for promotion? 🙁

Shisui, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Nara

Nara
The historical significance of this venue must be highlighted to illustrate its uniqueness in Nara - We signed up for the complimentary tour of the hotel offered to hotel guests on certain mornings of the week and had the pleasure of having Ms. Sato, the director of marketing, introduce the story of Shisui and its past-life as the residence of the governor of Nara between 1922 to 2017, then as Shisui hotel with guest-rooms designed by renown architect Kengo Kuma. The emperor of Japan had stayed on property in post-war to sign the San Francisco treaty. Sato-san's thorough introduction in fluent-english had me realise a stay at this hotel is a unique experience in the way that it is beyond just luxury. The staff had been wonderful and eager to please without pushiness. It was much appreciated, as it gave room for my wife and I to enjoy each other's company at this perfectly peaceful property. The staff had been amazing from the beginning, at check-in, we had Rika-san, a lady with eyes that can smile, to help us check-in while we rest our feet at the lounge with tea, then guide us to our room while briefing us on all its amenities. The rooms were modern with accents of traditional Japanese designs to remind me of the locations' history. Details like the washroom walls that look like zen-gardens and overall wooden decor made my stay at the room one of the most relaxing experiences ever at any hotel. The French-Japanese wine-paired dinner at Suiyou was also our culinary highlight of our two-week vacation in Japan. In summary, after the two night stay, my wife had requested that we should come back to Shisui in the spring, summer and fall to experience all the seasons at this venue.

This is a Rayocan, or a bed-- and- breakfast. It's a room in a private house in a residential area. It's great if you want an idea of how Japanese live. You are provided with slippers when you arrive and you leave outdoor shoes in the front door. DON'T bring your slippers in the bedroom! The bedroom is traditional, with floor carpet and bed linen provided. Your bag should be left outside the actual sleeping area. To be honest, the space is narrow and you need to move carefully to avoid damage the door to slip. The host was good enough to brew and serve us traditional green tea (a taste can be found if the truth is told!). In the morning, we were provided a choice between a traditional breakfast or a Japanese sea. We chose one of them to be able to compare and experience. Because the house is located in a residential area, we had to walk a bit (10 - 15 minutes) to find dinner. I was not sure if we found where the host was leading us, but we found what I can only describe as a ”restaurant” where we had something to eat. In the morning, the round bus passed quite close and this was a bit awkward. will take you to the station. The house allowed two rooms, we were lucky because we were the only guests so there was the best room. In addition, you share the bathroom, toilet and sink. That might not be anyone's favorite. You can also wash and dry clothes, which is always convenient if you are traveling - although there is an additional cost for this. This place is worth staying if you are traveling to Japan and want a real taste of the country.

Welcomed right from the get go even though our room wasn't quite ready! The staff were incredibly kind. Honestly, finding an affordable accommodation in Nara at this good of a location does not come easy, and so if you're traveling on a budget this is an excellent option. Room was very clean, air conditioning worked very well on those hot summer days, we were in the budget room but it was still decently comfortable and spacious for two people. Definitely would recommend.

The room was obviously suitable for 3 people, but one of the single beds was removed, despite still having three sets of cups, toothbrushes and so on. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen and the water pressure in the shower was not very good. However, hot drinks are served in the lobby, which also offers a foot massager, the New York Times and the English version of the Japanese daily. Breakfast is served in a comfortable small basement with reasonable choice of Japanese and Western food. Front desk staff is very helpful. If the room is for three people, the luggage for three people will be very crowded, but we only have two people to stay overnight, and only two people have luggage.

It's not too far from Nara Park and the station, so it's good to walk around, and it's near the lake, so it's good to walk at night. It's an alley, so you can feel the alley of Japan while walking in the morning and during the day, but it's scary at night! If you enter the building password, there are some kinds of iron sticks that can tie your luggage or luggage, and if you enter the room off-duplex, there are bathrooms, washbasins, and toilets in the room. The double-story ladder is a bit scary, but there is no problem. It was so clean and everything was good, but one problem? The point is that the building off-duty sound comes into my room, but I thought I pressed the password to enter my room. The sound is very loud. But I stayed for 2 nights on Thursday and Saturday, but I don't know if the sound of the room in the room is soundproof because all the people who used the building together for 2 nights stayed quiet, but I couldn't hear the sound of people!! I only heard the sound of the building password! Totally revisited doctor 100000%

Facilities: It is a nice and calm inn. Room: It is not small even if it is single, and it is ok even if it has a semi double bed on the tatami mats, hardness or back pain. I can't see the scenery (sorry) The temperature of the room is just right. There is no outlet around the bed. Meals: This is nothing special about it, and the amount is small overall. Overall, it was a poor feeling that was insufficient 々. Bath: I can see the five-storied pagoda, but when I take a bathtub, I can see it from the top and the hole, and I am disappointed that the front fence will be ruined, and I don't know the time because there is no clock in the bathroom. I'm sorry for the bath, and I don't feel old-fashioned in the facility, so I think it's the only thing that can calm down.

I stayed to take a picture of the scenery of Nara in the morning because I was worried about the atmosphere that the appearance produced before. Two young men who were friendly were at the front and bar space, and it was a very pleasant response. Only meals were provided, and 々 foreigners living in Nara were used as part of Kendo or some training. The bath is a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and 2 places only for showers. After bathing, read while drinking free coffee in a shared space where you can see the garden. I enjoyed the conversation with those who were guided by cycling tours from Australia. I thought I would continue reading after I stayed in the dormitory, but I wanted to drink in a retro bar space, and I was 3 minutes before the end of the service at 22 o'clock, but I was very kind to make a water split. Sleep comfortably. The next morning I checked out without eating, but the gentle response of the male staff was really pleasant and talked about Nara, which was fun again. There is no chance, but it is an inn that I wanted to go to stay again. I think I'll go to eat only.
