The location is good, just off the main road on the journey to Mukdahan. The gentleman came out of the hotel to meet me, as I was carrying my bags in. He demanded my passport and would not let me inside to put my bags down. He was unwelcoming, unfriendly and unhelpful. He took my passport into his office but would not let me in. He pointed to a QR code and asked me to transfer 450 baht. I used Google Translate to explain I had booked and paid the day before. It seems he was not expecting me. He would not believe I had already paid until I showed him the booking confirmation. He then gave me a key and showed me upstairs to the room. It is a good sized room but it smelled bad. There was no table to eat on, and the chair was old, scratched and dirty.
