Lake Victoria Granada Hotel Review This was my fist time in Entebbe, and I chose this hotel based on its large pool and beautiful setting. For a start, it is a colonial-style hotel set in beautiful gardens. It has 2 stunning pools (a large one with a diving board, and a small one, for young children), which are cleaned every morning. There’s also a gym, which I didn’t have the chance to use. Although it is an old hotel (built in 1948), the rooms are in good condition and have AC. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are large and have a shower, a bathtub and even a bidet. The whole place was impeccably clean. Breakfast buffet was good, with plenty of choices, starting with teas/coffee/chocolate drink (including an excellent cappuccino and espresso), followed by fruits (pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, watermelon and mango), home-made plain yoghurt, Gouda cheese, different types of breads and pastries (including croissants), eggs made to order, hot dishes (beans, bacon, sausage, etc.), and more. Breakfast was served at the Lake View Terrace, with beautiful views of the hotel grounds. The Palm Restaurant, downstairs, served a wide choice of international and Ugandan dishes at reasonable prices. There’s also a small bar and café downstairs, where you can get a really nice cappuccino. The best part about my stay was the wonderful staff. They were very professional and friendly, and provided a brilliant service. Thank you, Tom, Sarah, Vincent, and everyone else whom I had the pleasure of dealing with during my stay. I will return.

Me and my husband decided to take our one week fall vacation in Kampala oktober 2019 and we chose this hotel. In total we are satisfied, but to be a «leading hotel of the world», we suggest a few improvements. The pool area is good with comfortable sunbeds, nice pools, a pool bar and attentive waiters. The pool bar offered an ok variety of food options. Our room and the public areas were clean, the breakfast had many healthy options and the restaurants had a well trained and polite staff. The gym and the spa was of a very high quality, but we missed the Internett access in the gym. It should be a small thing to offer wifi to the hotel guests in the gym, we think. We had four treatments in the spa. The therapists were discrete, well trained and super friendly! The only negative comment is that the pedicure therapist should have asked if I was pleased before finishing the session. I had more hard skin left on my feet afterwards. Sad. In these times of focus on the environment, a leading hotel of the world should contribute more to reducing the use of plastic. We were of course glad that we could get as many bottles of water we needed in our room, but I think us to left appr 70 plastic bottles behind after our week at Serena. Why not offer the guests one (glass) bottle and provide a water dispenser like the ones in the spa and in the gym on each floor? The security was good in our opinion and we felt secure, relaxed and good taken care of during our stay. We would choose a Serena hotel next time!

The property is beautiful and well kept with views of Lake Victoria. We played golf and thoroughly enjoyed the course. The golf course was a highlight! However, the hotel was disorganized. I emailed the hotel about a month in advance to schedule Covid tests, an airport transfer, and book a tee time at the golf course. It took several emails from me “following up” before I got a response. I eventually scheduled and paid for a Covid test and an airport transfer. When we checked in, it didn’t seem like there was a note under our reservation about the Covid test, tee time, or airport transfer. We asked about these things at check in and were brushed off instead of assured that they were confirmed. When the time came for our Covid test appointment, it turned out they hadn’t actually scheduled it. I had to show the emails to prove that we had scheduled a Covid test, and they were able to schedule it later in the day. The airport transfer was $60USD. There are two ways of getting to the airport: the toll road (much faster) and the non toll road (much slower due to traffic and construction). The driver did not take the toll road even after we asked him about it, which was quite frustrating and time consuming. For $60, which is an expensive transfer price in Kampala, we should have taken the toll road. I expect more from a 5-star hotel.

Just about to end my stay at the hotel, and I’m extremely satisfied. I read a bunch of reviews on here before I booked, and honestly understand any of the negative reviews. I’ve stayed at wide variety/level of hotels in various parts of the world, and I’d be hard pressed to say anything negative about this place. The service has been top-notch, from check-in onwards. I’ve dealt mainly with Florence (I think that’s her name at least) at the front desk and always walk away feeling happy and taken care of. I was upgraded rooms thanks to Silver Elite I assume (which is pretty low on the status side of things, so I wasn’t expecting it). This certainly helps my positive perspective, but I don’t think it would matter. All of the staff I’ve dealt with from front desk, restaurant, housekeeping and bar staff have been very friendly and polite. I’ll stay here again in a heartbeat when I’m passing through, and if I have a longer stay I’ll hope to take advantage of all the amenities. Although the price is higher than some hotels, it’a certainly way more value for the same priced hotels in Canada/USA/Europe.

I never expected such a luxurious hotel in uganda.. To my surprise from the day of checkin to checkout never had any problem regarding the stay.
