Let me start at the beginning, so upon arrival I turn up to meet a seemingly pleasant chap named Gavin. Who when asked how things are, said, it’s incredibly busy, to which I reply, that’s great, busy is better than quite, to which Gavin replies, no you’re wrong, when it’s busy I have to do more work so I don’t like it when it’s busy, which immediately kicked off the stay feeling like an inconvenience to the staff. No help with bags, not that I actually needed it but, weirdly no trolley either. Was rushed into dinner as apparently if I didn’t eat a 6pm or 6:15 it would be too busy to serve me. There were many tables available all evening. But I just found out that it’s due to the amount of food the chefs cook. The next morning I dropped my laundry down to the reception as had been travelling before hand and waited to get to this “nicer” hotel to get my laundry done. Came back later that evening and my laundry was still there, I asked when would it be done, to which another staff member answered, we don’t do laundry here, which is odd to find out after the fact that the laundry had been submitted and accepted earlier that day. I then went straight into the restaurant at 20:35 to find out the restaurant kitchen closes at 20:30 and there’s no food available anymore. Was then given the names of restaurants to which half were closed. I can’t even be bothered to finish writing this, this hotel has some of the most disappointing hospitality I have ever experienced which is a shame because it is the “nicest” hotel in the area. I’ve got to say this though, today I called ahead because my sat nav said I would arrive at 20:37 and from Monday experience I know I wasn’t going to get any food, I ordered a soufflé and the beef. I arrived and was ushered into the restaurant to eat. Half an hour later a surprised lady said “oh you’re there” as if I was supposed to be somewhere else. Both my starter and main came at once, starter was cold but was so hungry I ate it, plus there’d not be a chef to reheat it anyway, and the “beef” turned out to be chicken, and I was supposed to have ordered room service, and been told beef was on the old menu and who ever took the order should have known better
