The hotel is extremely dated compared to the photos shown online. The photos appear to have been taken when the hotel was first built, as the current condition is completely different.
The hotel is run-down, with stains on the walls, peeling wallpaper, and carpets that are so worn and dirty in the room that the once blue ocean themed carpets now look brown. Both the hallways and room had an unpleasant smell.
Our room had several cleanliness and maintenance issues. There were visible stains on the duvet itself, underneath the duvet cover. The duvet cover is open along the long side, meaning the duvet hangs out and is easily touched. Given the stains, this did not feel hygienic at all. There was also visible mould around the fridge seals.
The bathroom tap barely produced any water when turned to hot, it was little more than a trickle.
The noise was another major issue. On the night before checkout, there was continuous banging and doors slamming from around 9 PM until approximately 1 AM. The impact was strong enough to vibrate the entire room, making it extremely difficult to sleep.
For a hotel advertised as 5-star, this was extremely disappointing. There is simply no way the current condition, cleanliness and level of maintenance reflect a 5-star standard.
We did not try the restaurants in the hotel, however there was a 7/11 situated inside the building which was very convenient and a nice little store selling local Okinawan goods.
Overall, the hotel is in need of renovation and maintenance. The photos online are very misleading and do not accurately represent the condition of the hotel today.
