Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay

Staying at the Lagoon Bure was a pretty good experience. The views were unbeatable and it was very quiet, with a dedicated shuttle service. The infinity pool at the fish bar had amazing views. It's best to rent a car yourself, as the hotel is about a 45-minute drive from Nadi. If you're not used to Western food and want to eat Chinese, taking a taxi to town isn't convenient. However, if you don't mind Western food, this hotel is absolutely perfect.

We were really looking forward to our honeymoon at the Marriott, the most popular hotel on the main island, but aside from the good service, we were quite disappointed. My partner and I started breaking out in a rash on the second day. We initially thought it was an allergy, but my partner's rash got progressively worse each day. We then discovered a lot of ants when we took clothes out of the closet, and even on the bed and pillows! However, the Marriott's medical staff insisted it was an allergic reaction. Our discussion with the manager went nowhere; we didn't receive any compensation or even an apology. It was a waste of time, effort, and money, and we didn't enjoy our time on the main island. All in all, it was a pretty unpleasant stay.

My stay here was truly terrible, especially the service, which made me very uncomfortable. When checking in, the staff insisted on a physical bank card for the deposit and completely refused my offer to pay with Apple Pay or other more secure methods. Even more outrageous, while swiping my card, I clearly saw the staff member writing down my bank card details. Everyone knows that with a foreign bank card, just the card number, expiry date, and CVV can lead to fraudulent charges, and this made me feel extremely unsafe. I immediately questioned it and argued with them. As a result, their attitude instantly changed, and then they said I could actually pay the deposit with Apple Pay. So why did they force me to use a physical card in the first place? Their statements were completely inconsistent, making me doubt their true intentions. Overall, the service attitude was poor, the process was unprofessional, and there were serious security risks. The experience was very bad, and I do not recommend choosing this place.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and well-equipped, and the views are absolutely perfect. The restaurant quality is also good, and watching the sunset at the fish bar was a fantastic experience. The staff are all incredibly well-trained, enthusiastic, and professional—it's not just a few individuals, but every single employee is welcoming and ready to assist with anything you need. Marriott's hotel training really shines through here. If I had to nitpick, the hotel sofas are a bit dated and starting to yellow slightly, and while the bed sheets are clean, they also show a bit of age with a slight yellowish tint. On a positive note, the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable; I rarely sleep this well in a hotel. This is definitely a highly recommended top-tier hotel in Fiji.

Definitely not worth it. There weren't many food options and what they had wasn't good. The rooms are old and the service isn't great. It's also inconvenient to get anywhere. For 5,000 a night, I feel like there are much better options. They even charge an extra 10 FJD for room service.
