My story is a tale as old as time. Ha! Getting ripped of by a hotel who took the words of a liar and robbed me of $538 An amount that is critical to my survival as I am primarily homebound/disabled. I was invited by “friends” who told me it would cost me nothing. I accepted because I had given up on ever seeing a beach again. Biggest mistake I’ve made in a long while. Due to the hotel not taking cash, I gullibly and *****ically used my card to hold the room. When we got there my “friend” put money on his chime card and gave that info to the front desk clerk. It was meant to replace my card but unbeknownst to me the hotel held on to my card info and even billed me an additional $256 WITHOUT my authorization. Here I am left with a literal dime to my name for the rest of the month. So I finally get in touch with the highest ranking employee, General Manager Casey, who tells me tough sh*t, there’s nothing she “can” (will) do and refused to give me the owner’s information. I HATE the fact that I sound like a Karen, I’m emphatically not a Karen, I’m a Kim. I don’t write reviews, in fact this is my first ever. A hotel that takes in tens of thousands (I repeatedly heard “we’re a business) probably hundreds of thousands, wasn’t willing to help me with my $538 is a greedy, money hungry unfit piece of garbage. I’m a crippled old woman with nothing to do so I’m gonna write as many less than zero reviews as I can. You stole my grocery money, my light bill money, my medications money, and more and you should be ashamed. It’s all about that mighty dollar isn’t it Casey?

This was our 3rd stay & definitely not the last. This time we stayed 5 nights over Labor Day weekend. It was a sold out weekend, so it was very busy with tons of people. Evening receptions were handled well with friendly bartenders & varied snacks. The breakfast buffet was delicious & varied, also made-to-order omelettes, and despite a crazy amount of people, seemed very organized. Of note, * Diandra * on the breakfast staff was amazing. She was in constant motion each day, maintaining organization while still sweet & helpful with many guests. While constantly working, she assisted guests with extra chairs while juggling things, cleaning up, just constantly working & always with a smile. So personable, greeting everyone each morning. Been to alot of Hilton breakfasts (Diamond) and Diandra is best. The new pool complex is great. Lots of seating, chaise loungers everywhere w tidy umbrellas, very comfortable. We always book a room overlooking the pool & it was interesting watching them prep the pool area each morning. The kids water park is better than ever (miss the lazy river tho) and the slide is fun for adults too! 😍Small pool bar w several kinds of beer, plentiful pool towels, restaurant servers available until 4pm. It would be nice if there was a way to keep people from “saving” chairs, then leaving; seems to happen everywhere tho. Nice updated rooms since our last visit, easy to text front desk for needed supplies, towels ect. Front desk manager Drew has helped us before & was even replying to text requests on the busiest days. We love it here. We’ve also stayed at the Hilton a few doors down. Kingston is our favorite area of Myrtle & Embassy is best. Will be back in March!

Myrtle Beach City Center
We had a wonderful time at the Sandy Beach Resort. It is located more at the northern end of the Grand Strand, near the 2nd Ave pier. We booked through Airbnb with Codey. Communication with our host was excellent, our fridge was not working well and maintenance was at our door ten minutes after contacting Codey, fixing the issue within a couple of hours. The condo was a third floor oceanfront shotgun unit with an excellent view of the beach and ocean, the sunrises were amazing!. It was very clean and well stocked with towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, dish soap and dish towels. There were plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery, an assortment of pots and spatulas etc. Enough to cook a simple meal, which we did a few times. The resort itself was excellent, plenty of lounge chairs at the pool and plenty of pool towels. The common areas were kept very clean, all the staff were very pleasant. We forgot our beach chairs at the pool one day and Cornel was kind enough to look for them and return them to us. The beach was only steps away.I would highly recommend both the Sandy Beach Resort and Codey. Diane, Burlington ON

We've been staying at this Hampton for more than 12 years and always enjoyed it. This year there were too many problems to ignore. Check in was very slow, we waited for almost an hour to get checked in, which has never happened before. The elevators need some maintenance. It sounds like there is a lot of sand in the door track and not sure if they were cleaned while we were there. The room we finally got was nice, although the couch needed to be cleaned and the room could be updated. The breakfast was good, the usual Hampton meal. They have 2 areas to serve breakfast since this is a large hotel, however only one area was open so breakfast was very busy. The breakfast employees did a great job of keeping up though. The pool wasn't cleaned the first day we were there which was a Monday so you can imagine how much sand was in it after a busy weekend. Also made me wonder if the water had been tested for cleanliness. The shower area, when you come off the beach, wasn't cleaned for the 4 days we were there, so rinsing your feet off did no good. That's probably why the pools are full of sand. The boardwalk steps are being overwhelmed by the plants from the sand dunes and look to be in disrepair. But probably the most disturbing thing was the dog situation. We really feel Hilton has made a big mistake allowing dogs on all their properties. This property is not set up for dogs to do their ”business.” The only convenient grassy locations are right by the swimming pools and I do mean very close proximity. Anyone that has ever had a dog knows that no matter how well you try to pick up after a dog, many times there is ”residue” left behind, not to mention all the urninating they are doing in the grass. We sat on our balcony and watched dogs using the grass as their bathroom and then watched people walk through the grass and get in the pool. Not a good set up at all! I really hesitated reviewing this year, but felt the hotel really needs to get back to what made them the number one hotel in Myrtle Beach for years. Not sure if we will give them another chance, which is sad because we really loved this hotel!

This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach October 8-11, with two children ages 3 and 8. We did weeks worth of research before choosing this resort. **You will always find scary and negative reviews for places but I promise you that The Breakers does not disappoint! (Unless you are difficult to please!)** We stayed in the Paradise building on the 20th floor. The view was amazing! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The water pressure in the shower was great! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat meals. The employees at this resort work hard to keep it clean and safe. Housekeeping checked in daily to replenish towels and take our trash. We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs and lazy river. This is a great location, steps from the ocean and walking distance to stores and restaurants. It was nice to have a Starbucks right across the street! It would have been nice if the kids pool was operating since our children and other families were interested in utilizing that amenity. However I was informed by front desk staff that operating hours are determined by the weather and the security team. The shuttle service was great and the driver was knowledgeable and friendly. We were picked up from the airport and were able to schedule rides to local attractions. Overall it was a great trip and we are already looking forward to returning! Thank you Breakers!

This was the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed at the resort in 3 years and we love it. We went 2 days after hurricane Ian and almost cancelled last minute but called and they said everything was ok so we decided to go. A lot of stuff to do at and around the resort plus it’s on the beach so most of our time was spent there. There’s a pool, lazy river, 4-5 hot tubs and a couple baby pools, plus the bar opens to the pool……theres also a small arcade. Get the breakfast package it’s worth it. It’s a buffet plus omelette station so we ate big breakfasts and then only once again in the early evening late afternoon. The staff was super friendly and very helpful especially when it came to things to do in Charleston. Maggie one of the breakfast ladies was super helpful and had some good talks with Gary from the resort store. The rooms are a little outdated but we only get the efficiencies because it’s all we need (maybe if you pay more the rooms are more up to date). The only beef I had with the stay is the fire alarm in my room would randomly go off for the first day and it was annoying at first but we didn’t stay in the room long so didn’t notice it. It stopped after the first day. View from the room. Oceanfront not ocean view!
