We booked the Executive Suite with big private infinity pool at Ftelia Black Villas for five nights, but left after two due to repeated issues and the way they were handled. Positives: The room design is beautiful and the pool area well maintained. The location is quiet and has potential for a great stay. Problems: On arrival, the shower required additional cleaning as the joints on the floor were dirty. On the first evening, we noticed a leaking siphon at one sink. Reception briefly looked at it, placed a bucket and towel, and the actual repair was done only the next day. That same day, a new problem appeared: water leaking from the wall behind the other sink, leaving a puddle. The facility technician had to open part of the wall and carry out repairs inside the suite. Despite this, the problem reappeared the following morning. During our two nights, staff had to come into the room several times (reception, housekeeping, technician). This is not the relaxing atmosphere one expects from a luxury property. After the first night, we ourselves asked for a room change but were told the hotel was fully booked. Only when we insisted on checking out was a change suddenly offered – far too late. Service: Although staff reacted to individual issues, there was no gesture of goodwill: no upgrade, no voucher, no courtesy such as a bottle of wine or spa treatment. The breakfast/restaurant was very basic, nothing special that would match a luxury image. When we contacted management about a refund, they refused even a partial compensation, pointing only to the “non-refundable” policy. While we chose this rate, such a clause should not apply when problems clearly originate from the property. Summary: The villas look beautiful, but real luxury is about service recovery when things go wrong. Here the approach felt rigid and disappointing. We moved to another hotel on the island, where everything worked and we were warmly welcomed. For future guests: if you really want to stay at this hotel, consider a refundable rate – once problems occur, management is unlikely to make exceptions.
