Holiday Inn Express Munich - City East, an IHG Hotel

The hotel has a lot of rooms, tidy, clean, comfortable, and convenient transportation nearby, but some rooms in the hotel do not have a hair dryer. I found out that there was no hair dryer after washing my hair last night. I called the front desk to ask for it. I waited for almost an hour and no one answered. Finally I opened the door, and a Chinese man just passed by in the corridor. By luck, he had a hair dryer in his room, so he was able to dry his hair...

The hotel is relatively new and modernly furnished. That was then the positive. The staff is poorly trained and unmotivated. We had made bad experiences in all areas: the check-in was a pure ”dealing”, my credit card was used only to pay the night, but not to pay at the bar, what was told us barshly by the lady behind the teche when ordering drinks. The lady was unfriendly and unmotivated. Also to the parking place we chose, we received wrong information, which would have resulted in expensive discharge costs, if we hadn't accidentally talked to staff from the neighborhood building. Breakfast was very bad. Dry breads, burned rice eggs(if they were actually eggs; what is to doubt), The only difference between water and orange juice was the color. the service staff was unmotivated and preferred to have the coffee machine ”collected” and drunk coffee without notice that there are no cups for guests anymore. The room was dirty. The tape was dirty and in the bathroom hair was distributed by the renter around the washing venue. Even after the second room cleaning, nothing changed. The complaint management does not work at all. No response has been given to our complaints and suggestions. The hotel is definitely not recommended!

Solid offering, attractive new build. Short walk to S-Bahn and windows ensure no exterior sounds. Rooms reasonable sized, Internet & lighting fine, AC worked well (rare in Germany), bath well illuminated and plenty of hot water. Interesting work desk actually worked well. USB outlets bedside. Front desk staff on it and professional. Two maintenance issues during my long stay handled quickly. Overall this is a definite return visit. Breakfast area gets overwhelmed when hotel is full but offerings were decent (it's a Express hotel so don't expect a big business buffet). Staff worked hard to keep areas clean. Downsides - cleaning staff wasn't consistent. Room was bit dusty to start (I cleaned it) but this was more a minor nit. Tips for hotel owner: Need to move the smoking area AWAY from front door. Constant smoking right by front door was bit off putting. Hints if you go: A little new shopping area is a 2 min walk, the ReWe is amazing and has food to go (excellnt veg offerings). Hirschgarten beer is a beautiful 10 min stroll. Behind the Flixbus building is a late late night club but has a small interesting Nachtgarden beer spot that is quiet in the early hours. ArteBianca is authentic Italian pizza (very good). Athos Pallas Greek is short walk and excellent as well. If you need to wash the Eco-Express Agnes-Bernauer-Straße is perhaps 15 min by foot (cash only) well maintained machines.

New and clean hotel. Good breakfast and close to the business area. One member of start to mention is benedict as he was very helpful. Don't hesitate to visit this hotel, the beds were very comfortable and have a good night's sleep. Thank you to the team at the hotel.
