J Hotel

This is a budget hotel on par with a Hanting (a popular budget hotel chain in China). The facilities are new and it's quite cheap. While it's close to the Grand Mosque, it still takes at least 15 minutes to walk there – it looks closer than it is. Brunei is a lot of fun and very safe, and the locals are incredibly friendly. This was especially noticeable after coming from the Philippines; the difference was huge.

There's a rooftop pool and gym with views of the famous Golden Dome Mosque. Downstairs, you'll find a cafe and bakery, and you can buy great coffee nearby. It's also a 5-minute drive to the night market. All in all, a solid performance in every aspect.

The room is very new and the location is excellent. Shopping malls, night markets, mosques, and supermarkets are all within walking distance. However, crossing the road in Brunei can be a bit tricky. Walking to the night market takes you through an area with stray dogs, so be a little careful. The hotel's top floor has a fitness area and a swimming pool, and you can see the mosque very clearly from the platform.

The hotel's rooftop pool offers direct views of the mosque, and the staff are very friendly. The hotel facilities are new, and there's a Putri coffee shop downstairs. If I ever go to Brunei again, I'll definitely stay here.

The building is new and the interior facilities are modern and very clean. The staff service is also excellent. The rooftop pool has a fountain area where kids can play, and you can also see the New Mosque from the rooftop pool, offering a wonderful night view. It's about BND5-6 by taxi to the Old Mosque.

Great location with excellent amenities nearby. **Facilities**: The rooftop pool is a nice touch, and the hotel feels very new. Overall, it offers great value for money. The only downside for fitness enthusiasts is that the 'gym' is a gym in name only. The few pieces of equipment they have are placed outdoors! Given the temperature in Brunei, even if you don't mind the equipment, you'd likely suffer from heatstroke after a workout.🥵

The location is great, only a 10-minute Grab ride from the airport. The room was super clean and the facilities were very modern! The front desk staff communicated well in English, and having a 24-hour reception was really convenient! There's a famous coffee shop and a bakery downstairs. Getting a ride to Gadong Night Market was also very quick. The rooftop has a swimming pool and a treadmill with a view of Brunei's largest mosque. I can only say, I highly recommend this place to stay!!!

The room itself was great, clean and tidy. I arrived on an early flight and didn't expect to be able to check in early, but was told I could come back at 11 AM to check in. Happy, I stored my luggage and went out to explore. When I returned to the hotel at 10:30 AM, I was told there would be an extra charge for early check-in. I then reminded the front desk that they had agreed to let me check in at 11 AM earlier that morning, and only then was I asked to wait a bit longer for check-in. This little hiccup was the only thing that dampened my mood, but everything else was really good. There are two large supermarkets around the hotel, and on the ground floor, there's a bakery and a Japanese dessert shop, so breakfast was easily sorted. The breakfast and lunch at the bakery were excellent; I ate there twice. The Japanese desserts were also delicious, and two people don't need to order too much. From the hotel room, you can see the mosque, which is truly beautiful.
