Adora Inn

Very nice place to stay only blocks away from historic downtown. We were welcomed immediately. Great breakfast and warm hosts, Arthur and John are extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed being there and would stay again when we are in the area again.

I guess we drew the short straw. The camel room was very dimly lit, no light for the chair so that one could have a place to sit and read. The bathroom sink was uncomfortably low. That said by a 5’4” person. The color theme for the entire house was in earth tones and oriental/tribal rugs which lended some color. The color scheme was balanced by sunlight otherwise the entire house seemed somewhat depressing. The breakfasts were spectacular and well thought out nutritionally ad gourmet. The artwork was interesting and plentiful. I can’t recall a blank wall. The lack of lighting did not do the artworks justice. Because of the absence of television, I brought a couple of needle work projects and magazines but that ole’ dim lighting prevented me from enjoying my “toys”. I was concerned about some safety issues. Night time second floor hallway lighting fixture had the capacity for three bulbs aimed in various directions. Unfortunately only one bulb was used and the narrow stairway was quite dim.

We spend a long weekend in Mount Dora for our wedding anniversary. We were fortunate to be hosted by John and Arthur at their Adora Inn. It is a wonderful old home with beautiful decor situated about a four minute walk from the center of town. Everything about our stay was perfect. The morning breakfasts were a great mix of sweet and savory always accompanied with fresh fruit and juice. The room (Vanilla) was very private and lovely, having everything we were looking for. We look forward to our return to Mount Dora and the Adora Inn.

Located a short walk to the four square block shopping district, this B&B is a pleasant place to stay. The hosts, John & Arthur, were welcoming and made us feel at home. There is gated, off-street parking. The bed was very soft and low to the ground. However, the delicious breakfast was absolutely worth the stay.

Our room was quirky, quiet, and comfortable (though, being both over 60, we might opt for a second floor room next time!) Breakfast both days was beyond delicious, and we found ourselves listening to the Pandora Eartha Kitt playlist in the car later in the trip - the music was perfectly suited to hanging out on the front porch. John and Arthur took great care of us, and we loved meeting them and their dogs. We will be back!

We love coming to the Adora Inn! We've been here 7 times and it is always lovely. We stay in the Olive Room - it has a king bed and nice, comfortable chair along with room to move around. John and Arthur are great hosts and amazing cooks! The breakfasts are creative and so flavorful. My favorite is the Croissant French Toast with Chicken Sausage along with a bowl of fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola. The atmosphere is upscale, but comfortable and so close to the activity in downtown Mount Dora. We'll be back again next year!

The Inn is very convenienly located for the Mt. Dora Art's Festival. Convivial. Comfortable. AND - the very best breakfast imaginable. The proprietor's go above and beyond with their hospitality yet are inobtrusive. Highly recommended.

My sister and I totally enjoyed our stay at Adora Inn. Hosts John and Arthur made us feel right at home. They cooked the most delicious breakfasts which were served out on the enclosed patio. Place was very clean with comfortable beds. This is a great location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the lake with beautiful sunsets

In January of 2024, my husband and I enjoyed another wonderful stay ( our 4th ) at the Adora Inn in the Treehouse Room. The room is bright and airy and features a king sized bed and ensuite bath with a soaker tub. The ambiance is enhanced with fresh flowers in the room and soft background music in the public spaces. John and Arthur are wonderful, welcoming hosts who go out of their way to ensure that the inn is immaculately clean and inviting. You wake up to the wonderful aroma of a hot, delicious breakfast prepared by these gentlemen who are very accomplished cooks. The Inn is walking distance from all that downtown Mount Dora has to offer in terms of restaurants, shops, a nature walk and cruises on Lake Dora. Mount Dora epitomizes a southern landscape, with its rolling hills and magnificent trees dripping with Spanish Moss.
