Beautiful place to stay with a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone here was so kind and very helpful.

Beautiful property! Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was top notch- amazing big shower with great pressure… perfect for after climbing the mountain. Employees speak English well and are accommodating. Yoga, spa, laundry, meditation are all available. Dinner (Zanzibar fish) and breakfast (made to order omelets and buffet) were delicious! Many cute cats around. Manager was friendly and connected with all guests!

It exceeded our expectations and they left a very good first impression! From the staff to their customer service, amenities, food and everything in between, the vibes just hit differrent. Prisca and her staff made us feel very welcome, it's incomparable!

We stayed at Chanya lodge for two nights on our honeymoon. The room was spacious with a lovely rain shower. The food in the restaurant was great, I especially loved the pilau (spiced rice). The people were very kind and helpful. Would recommend!

Chanya was an incredible experience for our first couple of nights in Tanzania. The service and food were exceptional, it felt incredibly safe and private, and the room was specially decorated for our honeymoon. Hot water and cold AC were a lovely touch to our stay, and Ibrahim made our lodging an incredible experience.

Everybody‘s friendly and attentive! The pool, the garden, the restaurant and the rooms are beautiful. We loved this place :)

This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. And I have travelled all over the world in many different 3rd world countries even YWCA hostels in the US. The room was disgusting with a frayed floor mat (presenting serious trip hazard) and a broken bedside lamp ( see photos). It felt like an ashram for beggars. The buffet food was barely edible and the left overs from dinner showed up for breakfast the next morning, all dried out and gross. The breakfast offerings were presented in an unhygienic way with everyone digging into the same jam pot and butter. The toasters were not working so wait times for toast at the one operational toaster were unacceptable. The front desk staff were totally unhelpful and told several lies about room availability and sight seeing destinations. If you are planning on hiking Kilimanjaro do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay.

We had a wonderful experience. Everyone was very friendly. Steve the maítre d was amazing and informative. Our server Angel was new to the lodge but she was very attentive and kind.

I stayed at Chanya Lodge 3 nights before my Kilmanjaro climb and 2 nights after. I had the best time! Due to low season I was one of the very few people that stayed here, but nonetheless I was treated like a princess. The garden is STUNNING and very well kept, as well as the swimming pool. The staff and barstaff is very friendly. Nice hot warm showers. I loved the open restaurant, where I could sit the whole day to read and journal, even without ordering continously. A lot of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, which surprised me in the most positive way! After my climb they did my laundry. Overall a very nice and peaceful stay, and I would 100% recommend Chanya Lodge to everyone that stays in Moshi. Only 'downside' is the location, since it's not close to the city centre. But I guess taxi's will get you to a more busy area! Also wish they included more Tanzanian cuisine on the menu.
