Samesun Montreal is hands-down my go-to hostel in the city. Every stay has been consistently great — welcoming staff, a fun atmosphere, and a layout that makes it easy to meet other travelers.
The rooms and common areas are always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the vibe is exactly what you want in a hostel: social but still relaxed enough to get a good night’s sleep.
Whether I’m visiting Montreal for a quick trip or a longer stay, Samesun is always my first choice. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous little hotel close to the old city. Highly recommend for the overall feeling.
The walls are thin but it feels safe and is in a good neighbourhood.

Great location and kind staffs. The room was big. It's better to bring your own shampoo and shower gel. It was also great that the breakfast was provided. There is a big supermarket nearby so it was easy to get something there.

Hostel is very accessible by metro, and is close to the central bus station where most intercity buses stop. Breakfast was simple.

The dorm was ok, depending of who share the dorm; breakfeast ok(muffins); Very good location when you need to take a bus at the Bus Station.
kitchen very small, and some guest do not wash their dishes.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Samsun Montréal. The place is clean, well-located, and comfortable. However, a major downside was that the bedding wasn’t made up beforehand. This was quite surprising since many other hostels in Montreal, even cheaper ones, provide this as a standard service. It’s especially inconvenient when you’re on an upper bunk as it creates noise and disturbs others. It would definitely be much more comfortable if beds were prepared in advance.
