InterContinental Hotels MONTREAL by IHG

This is my third trip to Montreal, Canada and also my first time going during the winter. We stayed at the InterContinental, in the downtown area. We got a wonderful room with a great view of the city (absolutely beautiful with the snow). The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We opted to do self parking at the parking garage connected down below. We didn’t we to be exposed to the cold too long. The room was immaculate and stocked with all toiletries, several fluffy pillows and the bed was comfy. They also provided two complimentary bottled waters and free hot chocolate in the lobby (from 10 am 7 pm). I would rate this experience a 4/5, only because our room was not attended to when we requested it. We came back and the additional towels, blankets, and replacement soap were not put up. They were placed in the bathroom and on the bed around midnight when we returned (seems like the front desk dropped it off since there no one was available).

Location of the hotel is very convenient. Connected to a covered commercial building with metro. Walkable to old port area and Eaton Centre. Front office staffs were polite. Valet staffs were helpful. Housekeeping was superb.

Staffs were kind and professional. (except the man at the Concierge desk... he didn't seem to know much about the hotel's services or maybe he just didn't want to speak to us.) Valet service can take very long when crowded. It was weird that there was only 1 set of bath robe and slippers in the room when everything else was set up for 2. (I booked the deluxe room with a king size bed for 2 guests.) Room size was good and bathroom was clean. Great location. I could walk to most of the old Montreal tourist attractions and good restaurants around. All in all, a bit old... but a good 5 star hotel. I would recommend it.

Convenient location in the city center and next to the metro station. The hotel is pretty old but well kept. It is very confusing to get to hotel lobby from the underground parking lot. You need to change 3 elevators and 1 escalator to get there. The car parking for hotel guests is located at the lowest levels ie 9 to 12 below ground. It will take 5 minutes every time to get to the parking lot. The lap pool closed at 7 pm and the sauna was not working. The steam room barely had any steam.
