Woodford Bridge Country Club

I always try and book a pre Xmas stay somewhere, with my children . I came across Woodford Bridge on a booking site , and it seemed to offer great value for money so I thought why not. There are some positives and negatives which I ll list below. Arrived on a dark and gloomy Tues evening, the roads are not particularly great , potholes galore in the area. In the dark its quite scary roads too, in the middle of nowhere !! Check in was straightforward, nice friendly staff , however I found they have a tendency to talk amongst themselves and leave you waiting for too long before saying " can I help you "? Apartment was very clean , modern and warm. Incredibly happy with the size of it. Easy location to the games room for my boys, which they enjoyed very much, the pool table and table tennis. However the lighting is not great around the steps , and also the warning paint on edges of steps have worn off , so I had to be very careful walking back to apt in the dark. Used swimming facilities , nice , clean , quiet . The other facilities looked good . Went to the pub on site one night. Lovely little place , although totally devoid of atmosphere, hopefully better at weekend when live music on. They definitely need something. Prices of wine extortionate 175ml for 7.25 . I had to contact reception as the seal around the oven was coming off, did this in the morning before we went to atlantic village. On our return it was still hanging off, so had to contact reception again. Although I really liked the apt , there are a couple of improvements needed I feel. Firstly I could not find a chopping board or fish slice in the kitchen. As a single female with 2 children I also did nt feel safe as the apts can be accessed by anyone , there needs to be a key card reader on the entrance to the block , not just the apt door. Overall , it was a nice enough stay but I Don t think we d return. Probably much nicer in the Summer , and more going on in the area

A time share complex selling rooms available on an ad hoc basis. Apartment had a good kitchen, dining are, lounge, separate bedroom and bathroom. Leisure facilities excellent. Location in the middle of very scenic countryside lovely but a drive to nearest town. Room needed a refreshing coat of paint but did not impinge on our stay. Restaurant, bar and small farm shop on site at acceptable cost. Staff very helpful, efficient and friendly.

Great place and lovely location. We were very surprised by how lovely the apartment was the facilities. Great indoor pool and swimming facilities.

We love coming here its so nice and relaxing. And very well looked after also very clean. All the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Have stayed here a number of times previously and the houses are great to stay in as they have plenty of room to relax and enjoy the stay. We didn't use the leisure and restaurant facilites.The only issue we had was trying to change a one night booking to a 2 night booking, without losing payment already made, seemed impossible - so we just stayed the one night

Beautiful well kept apartment, lovely and clean. Staff all over resort were friendly and welcoming. Used facilities which were perfect.

Two night break in a one bedroom appartment was excellent. Very clean. Appeared to be refurbished. We did not use the leisure facilities. A bottle of wine in the bar was £29 which we considered to be very over priced considering it retails at just over £8! No doubt it was probably £5 for them to purchase. We were disappointed there was no music or quiz night in the bar. You will need transport as the country club is not located near shops or pubs. There is a pub a 5 minute drive away which serves excellent food and they give a warm welcome. The Union Inn. Affinity shopping outlet is great for a few hours of retail therapy. Bude is around 30 mins drive. Staff very friendly and helpful. This was our 8th visit and it didn’t disappoint. We paid £10 to have a later check out of 11am. At check in they do take £100 deposit from you. From previous visits I know this can take up to a week to be returned to your account which can be inconvenient. We hope to return in the New Year

We didn't stay for long unfortunately but instantly regretted it when we checked in. The room we had was super clean and huge, alot bigger than what the images showed, we was shocked tbh. The kids were awe and loved the space, the bed and sofas were super comfy. We're planning another family trip for a longer stay this time at this very villa! Can't go wrong with the price either

If you are booking here to use the pool etc, be warned it is only open until 5pm, the last hour is for members only and for some reason check in is not until 4, and unlike other hotels around the world they wont even tell you where you are staying so you cant park near to where your lodgings may be!!! We arrived at 3pm, didnt get checked ij until 4.20pm as the man on reception couldnt get hold of anyone, so we couldnt use the pool. When leaving it is member only until 9am and check out is 10.... That was a real shame as the rest of the accommodation, the bar, restaurant and rest of the staff were really good. Im the room, too many dead mosquitoes dotted around the rooms, being next to a slow moving river there were plenty around and had obviously caused previous guests an issue! Apartments are great, excellent shower too
