SpringHill Suites Erie has very clear strengths and weaknesses. The room was very nice, the hotel seemed new or newly renovated, I had no concern at all with the room which was in mint condition and clean. Breakfast was another story. I just simply skipped altogether. They did not even have something as basic as cut fruits, and the bananas looked sickly. There was a nauseating mountain of bacon and nothing else that stood out for example some hotels have at least one thing which appeals like fajita wraps or greek yogurt, etc. At SHS everything was bare bones. In fairness I would much rather have a great room with no breakfast than the other way around so overall I am not overly negative about this hotel. It would be a lot easier for them to up their game about breakfast than hotels which need to change the state of their rooms. Easy fix, if they wish to do so.

We were in town for a basketball tournament and stayed 2 nights. Our room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful especially with our large group. Only downside would be they ran out of pool towels at one point. The mall is literally right across the street and several restaurants are close by. Great location!

This was our second stay at this Homewood Suites for business purposes. The first time we were here, we arrived pretty late on a Sunday night, and the mall that was in close proximity to the hotel was closed and dark - the area looked kind of creepy. Add to that the fact that one of the party was awakened in the night by the sound of something going on outside, and looked out to see someone rooting around in the trunk of one of the vehicles, and police taking them away in handcuffs. This most likely colored our perception of the place. This time, however, was a different story. We arrived early in the evening, the stores in the mall were still open, and there were no incidents in the night. Our room was very clean and nice. Not sure if the suites on the 2nd floor are nicer than those on the third floor (where we were placed on our earlier visit), but this room seemed to be a cut above what our recollection of the last stay was. If things have been improved, then bravo!
