The Westin Palace, Milan

Brera Milan|1.98km from Quadrifoglio
It is very true that a picture and an image tell their own powerful story! When my husband Guy and I arrived back at the Westin Hotel from Florence, Guy got down on the floor of the hotel reception on both knees to offer a prayer of thanks to Riccardo, the Head Concierge of the Magical Concierge Team. This is how grateful and delighted we were with the services of the Concierge team of Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia. Riccardo was unphased by us not having made Porter reservations for the Railway station. He said he would find a way to help for us with our large luggage. The combination of Riccardo’s skills and connections achieved a mini miracle; our taxi driver to Milan station had been briefed on how to secure porter assistance and the plan was executed with military precision. A young man appeared from nowhere to provide this assistance. This type of service can only be achieved by a Magical Concierge Team. Riccardo, Andrea and Silvia also scored perfection on our return journey from Florence to Milan. As the train arrived at Milan Central, Porter Andrea was holding up a sign with my name on it with the universal thumbs up signal. Watching this Porter lift two suitcases weighing around 20 kilos each from the overhead baggage rack as though they were a feather, was astonishing. Between them Porter Andrea and Mario, the driver of the chauffeur service ensured a seamless arrival back at the Westin. We recommend this Concierge team without any hesitation as the best.

Hotel San Guido

We both liked this hotel. Italian hotels can be variable and hotel near stations especially so. However the San Guido was fine. We received a friendly welcome from the person on reception and were pleasantly surprised by our room, which was quite spacious, with a separate hall and a large bathroom. The furniture and fittings were charmingly old fashioned. My wife was particularly taken with the light fittings on the landing. A tram line runs in front of the hotel and you could hear the trams rumbling by but it wasn’t loud enough to be disturbing. Breakfast was included and it was fine. We had a problem finding the hotel when walking from the nearby station. Google recommended leaving by a side door and walking through a car park. However, even if we could have found that exit, it didn’t seem a wise route to choose in the dark. We left by the main entrance and it took a while for Siri to figure out our best route to the hotel. The good news is we found a row of nearby restaurants where we later ate dinner.

Extremely friendly and available staff, excellent cleaning and excellent location, just 600 metres from the metro. Unfortunately, our room, the 306, which was so hot as it was served, was so warm that the air conditioning also needed a lot of time to make the temperature at least acceptable, This is only in the room because we have always made real saunas in the bathroom. There was only so much noise and so much swallowing from the window, no air, because, just a meter away, there was a metal box and an infinity of very noisy tubes (photo), It was really difficult to rest at night... The ceiling above the bed, quite very low, did not help... Conclusion: If we were to go back, strictly not to the third floor and, above all, never again in 306!

Very helpful and friendly front desk staff, compliments to them! Location is good, close to Garibaldi train station, albeit still a solid +10 minutes walk to the station hall, but also with 3 tram stops next to the hotel. Rooms however are not in the best state, with dated furniture, and many bathroom facilities not working (such as bidet, toilet flush button, and showerhead). Rooms were also tiny, even for Italian standards very small, and my room was only equipped with one set of towels. Another set was found in the closet, but disintegrated upon use and spread white fluff /everywhere/. Hotel also does not have a place to stop for 5 minutes and offload luggage for guests traveling by car, as the main entrance is located at a busy road intersection. No doorman or porter present. Cleanliness is acceptable, although the aged rooms feel worn and used.

No breakfast, no money, so I have to buy food or find a place to eat nearby, it is not convenient. Not far from 400 meters, there is a Carrefour, there is a small shop opposite the business, the boss is Wenzhou, there are good coffee and bread, not expensive. Very close to the subway, walk more than 300 meters The room is large, there is a big sofa inside to sleep one person Hotel location is OK, in the neighborhood, unfamiliar is not easy to find, once I went to find it Parking lot is small but free The only drawback: it is close to the train tracks, and there is a bit of noise when there is a train in the room at night.
