"Overall, lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, accommodation cosy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, but evening meals were awful on the half board deal. Only two choices per course and the portions were extremely small. We offered to pay more to have choices off the full menu, but we were told we couldn't. We ended up eating out 5 out of 7 nights. Hence can recommend the hotel, but do not take the half board option, stick with B & B."

"Location was perfect; the closest spot to Meribel lifts. Jacks restaurant attached/next door. Request a room on the opposite side if you're early to bed because of the noise. Rooms were clean; they definitely could use more electrical outlets. They did have a power strip though. Service was excellent; staff very attentive. Buzzer at the desk because staff is usually pulling double duty elsewhere. Halfboard dinner was fabulous. Not exaggerating."

"Staff are friendly and very helpful, our room was very clean and comfortable with a bonus nice view and little balcony, you can leave your skies and boots across the road at the ski hire store for easy access, we used the sauna and pool and had a dinner in the restaurant which was very good. Breakfast has all the favorites, eggs bacon sausages, fruits, cereals, yogurts and pastries all were great. The hotel location is a 5min walk to the lifts, and is the heart of the village shops"

"Just back from a family holiday here. Stayed in Block B - room 310. Beautiful spacious apartment - there were 6 of us staying and plenty of room for all. Very well designed apartment, spotless and in a good location in the village of Meribel. Would highly recommend!!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were only there for two nights during ski season but found the room to be very comfy-cozy, the staff delightful and the food delicious. We only had breakfast and lunch but enjoyed both. I experienced an injury on the trip and the staff was very helpful in accommodating and making phone calls to help with my modified transportation needs. We hope to be back in March 2026!"

"The staff are superb, friendly and very helpful. The Concierge arranged to pick us up from our AirBNB on the morning of check in, where they had our lift passes ready. The next day I lost my phone, tracked it down to one of the off piste bars, the hotel got one of their drivers to take me back to the bar (and I recovered my phone). The hotel itself is in pretty much the best location possible in Meribel, a few short steps away from the main Chaudanne ski start area. The bar is cozy and friendly (they do an excellent Old Fashioned). Breakfast is served in the attached restaurant, and offered an extensive hot and cold buffet. My room was a ‘standard’ room, while it wasn’t the biggest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, it was well equipped, stocked with quality ‘Nuxe’ toiletries, and had a large balcony overlooking the main street. The mini bar was included in the price (though sadly lacking wine!). Also worth noting that ‘Le Kaila’ is ‘La Chaudanne’ attached sister (5*) hotel, I am sure Le Kaila has a bit more luxury and probably larger rooms, but it feels like a lot of it rubs off on La Chaudanne (certainly from a service perspective). In summary if you want a great hotel in the right location in Meribel, don’t hesitate to try La Chaudanne."

"We are really disappointed with our appartment because of the smell. We thought at first it was the drains but it’s outside and is apparently because of a 3rd part restaurant and they can’t go anything about it. It’s hot and sunny at the moment and I nearly fell over walking past it really stinks - our apartment is above the offending stair well and I don’t want to sit out on the balcony. I am not impressed - the hotel receptionist was really unhelpful saying it’s not us so we can’t do anything about it. The apartment is nice but the kitchen pans need replacing all the non stick is damaged - there are no wooden spoons ! Very cross and unhappy bunny"
