Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras

Great Hotel !!! Especially the pool and the food!

Fantastic hotel! We were a family of 7 (28 - 85 years). Were stayed in the hotel part and had 3 rooms close together which is asked for. The staff were brilliant, everyone was really friendly and super helpful. The food was great, plenty of selection for breakfast and evening meal. The tapas was great, really good quality and beautiful location overlooking the sea. My mum needed a wheel chair which reception ordered for us (€60 for basic chair x 1 week). The staff in both the restaurant and pool then reserved space for us to make it easier for my elderly parents to get around but also gave us the ability to always be sat together. The rooms were spacious and very clean with walk in shower. The pools were great, we stayed near the middle pool as it had a ramp and hand rail making it easier to walk in for my parents. The beds around the infinity pool were always taken first, but the actual pool wasn’t busy. We were on the second floor of the hotel overlooking the shops, and didn’t find it noisy, although if you were in a room closer to the front on that side it might be noisier as there is a bar close by. It was handy having a supermarket outside the hotel. Hotel was in a great location. If you want to go in the sea and avoid the rocks then head a bit further down the beach to the yellow hut, there’s no rocks in the sea to stub your toe on. That part of the beach is nudist though. It would have been nice to have complimentary water in the room, at least on arrival. But, we had a fantastic holiday, perfect weather all week, my folks felt safe and well looked after by the staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic hotel in an exceptional area. The food, service and facilities were excellent and the hotel was lively, yet chilled at the same time. We initially thought that the spirits were expensive in the bar, that is until they poured the measures... Great value and a good selection of whiskies. The room we were allocated was a bonus. Directly overlooking one of the infinity pools and the ocean, we could not have asked for more. The location was stunning - close enough to sandy beaches, the dunes, and a multitude of bars, restaurants and shops. The 'White Party' at the hotel next door was a bonus - an outstanding night. The only niggles that we could mention would be that the gym is really dated and the equipment could be in better order. Some of the 'adult only' areas could also be better policed. These were minor and I'd have no hesitation in recommending this as a fantastic place to come for a relaxing break.

This is our sixth journey at Riu Palace Meloneras. The hotel is very nice to stay, the rooms are large and neat. The food is excellent, the breakfast as well as the dinner. The staf is very friendly. The hair dressers in the hotel deserve a special recommendation, the girls are very friendly and profesionnal, great job! An & Peter October 2025

This is a lovely hotel but sadly we’ve decided it’s not our favourite in this area. Rooms were fine. Furnishings felt a little cheap/basic. Bathroom was nice with shampoo conditioner and body wash. Hair dryer too. Although would of preferred if our family of 4 could of been in rooms next to each other. We were in adjacent blocks though. Which was tricky with our family ages, 6 and 15 and two adults. Meant us parents had to sleep separately. Pool areas are lovely with plenty of sun beds, but the warmest was only 27 degrees, and the other 3 were 26 degrees. This was too cold for our son and he ended up shivering and wanting to come out quite quickly. This made the holiday less fun for us as a family as we couldn’t get the kids in the pool without lots of encouragement. Pool play time is not normally an issue. Staff around the pools were friendly and efficient with drinks and pool snacks. Nice food for pool side lunches. There was a member of staff that was a very fun, gentleman with short light hair. He was full of energy and my son loved his interactions. The staff overall were very welcoming. Although there were families here. It mainly seemed to be an older age demographic then previous hotels we’ve stayed in around melaronas area. Evening entertainment was nice but quite sedate. But good quality bands and singers. We did go to the Riu gran hotel next door for the ‘Neon’ party which was very lively. Think: family rave! Great fun. You need a wrist band from the Riu palace reception to gain entry to this. I think it’s a weekly Friday night thing. As they were advertising a ‘white’ party for the next week. Kids club was small and quiet but my son did like the lady running it. She seemed lovely and kept the activities fun. We stayed half board so had breakfast and dinner included. There is a great selection of food. Very nicely cooked and laid out. I was actually very impressed with the food on offer here. Better than some other local hotels we’ve used previously. What does let it down is when you arrived to breakfast and dinner you seat yourself. If it’s the busy time you can end up walking round and round the tables looking for somewhere to sit. This can be a little chaotic. As people are hovering for tables to become free. Other hotels we’ve visited the staff would seat you normally. Also there seemed to be lots of tables set for two, e.g a table enough for 4 but only laid out for two. We kept having to rearrange the place settings ourselves which seems a strange thing in a 5 star hotel. The location is ideal for walking out to the shops/bars and beach outside the hotel. Beach 10 min walk.
