"Basic and a short walk to the airport Bed comfortable towels kettle etc We booked in for breakfast but I was a bit disappointed that coffee was in a paper cup Cereal could be in a proper bowl but had to eat with a wooden spoon awful! I really don’t see the point ! As you have to wash the bowl up so why not a spoon knife and fork! Cereal was stale! Water was not cold and tasted dusty but you could have that in a glass and juices - weird Tables not wiped down had to ask when 3 people were just standing around doing nothing !"

"We arrived Melbourne at about 23:00 and will be leaving for a 08:30 flight the next morning. The good thing is the hotel is very close to the airport but it's a bit hard to find the entrance. Hotel room is clean and the front-desk staff is very helpful."

"We arrived in the evening , directions to hotel from Melbourne airport t4 was clear , we chose to walk there and the walk was smooth and short. Room was clean with comfy bed and pillows . Equipped with all necessary amenities , we have enjoyed a short stay with holiday inn . Shuttle to and from airport costs us $3/pax"

"Arriving Melbourne late at night and have a morning flight the next day. Chose Parkroyal given its price and super convenient location: just walk pass the footbridge at 2/F of the terminals and take the hotel lift at the carpark to reach the reception floor. Room is big and clean, water is hot enoguh and with a bath tub, sadly it was too late I haven’t used it.  The service was good too that they have totally no problem at all for me to store the big luggage for 5 days as I will be flying to Tasmania for few days trip with a small luggage.  Just don’t like about the pillow which are too soft. But the rest, perfect!!"

"The positives were the hotel staff, who were very accommodating and attentive, and the convienant free shuttle bus to and from the airport. The location itself is an ideal distance from the aiport, however it is quite old, with long, unattractive hallways of old red brick, which smelled of cigarettes and mustiness. The communal areas were extremely limited, as though an afterthought, and I can not imagine anyone actually using them, so they're likely just for show, but it doesn't look inviting. The view from the back side of the hotel looked out through some low trees to a dirt field, which is fair enough for a 3-star hotel, however there seems to be a large amount of (guard?) dogs being kept in a fenced area on that property only 40 metres away from the hotel, and they bark constantly, day and night, with peaks of extremely excited barking which is noticeably loud and hard to ignore. There were an old pair of dirty shorts clumped in the hotel's yard, right below the balconies and tree-line, which was a bit off-putting to see. There is not much around the hotel in walking distance, including public transport, so expect to use taxi or uber unless you want to walk extended distances. Generally, the hotel was serviceable for an overnight stay. However, I do not recommend staying here for any more than an overnight layover. It was not a comfortable or enjoyable experience, and best used for budget stays only. The age of the hotel is very evident in its cramped and dated design."

"The service offered with 24 hr reception and hotel transfers was exceptional. A pre-packaged breakfast was available for just $5. Staff were pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I arrived on the last plane into Melbourne about 12.15am. The shuttle bus was waiting with the diver being very patient and courteous as I worked my way to the pick-up point. Would definitely use them again."
