Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland East/Mayfield Village

Was a good hotel but a little bit far and they do not have a bar open on the nights for dinner

Staff was polite and helpful. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Bar/restaurant closes early, so we couldn’t utilize it. Pool/gym was also closed for renovations. Bathroom was clean but missing attention to detail and/or requiring maintenance. Faucet handles backwards, shower faucet needs replaced, grout needs work.

The breakfast was cooked to order , free with voucher, but had to sign a tab and expected to tip. parking was ok. all of the first floor was under construction. pool and hot tub were closed

Shower didn't work, stains on the carpet, to much light came in from the window from street, hard to sleep. Road noise as well.

Hotel was closed due to a main pipe burst and repairs. We were directed to a nearby Holliday Inn.

Booked this hotel because reviews said “newly renovated”—completely false. The decor looks straight out of the 1990s, and the room was disgusting: dirty sheets and a comforter with a large black stain and what looked like blood. I called the front desk and the young staff member said they couldn’t access housekeeping items. We were moved rooms, which was even worse—the carpet was covered in huge dark stains and felt filthy to even step on. Then at 3:30 AM, fire alarms went off and guests evacuated into freezing air with ZERO staff anywhere. The fire department was there 35–40 minutes and still couldn’t find a single employee. When one was finally found, he had no idea what to do and no emergency plan existed. A pipe had burst and the hotel flooded—it looked like a scene from the Titanic, with water still pouring from ceilings and the fire alarm still going off ! Even after we were allowed back in! We were told we could return to our rooms or leave, but the staff member didn’t know about refunds and couldn’t get a manager to respond. From 3:30 AM until nearly 11 AM we had no answers, and were finally told a refund could take 3–4 weeks because we booked through Travelocity. Travelocity was zero help and their insurance is a joke, requiring documentation the hotel wouldn’t provide. This nightmare ruined our weekend—we didn’t find another room until 1 PM and had to pay high last-minute prices. Avoid this place!

The rooms were very clean. The staff at front desk was friendly. They closed breakfast up 20 minutes early which was a bummer since we had a busy morning and were hoping to get back for breakfast and were disappointed to hear that closed early. Everything else was wonderful though, the bathroom was very clean and the fitness center was nice and also clean.

There was a note on the wall by the thermostat that the noisy, creaky air conditioner was controlled at the window. The receptionist knew the Wi-Fi password but did not know which one of the 5 or 6 Wi-Fi networks available was the hotel's Wi-Fi network. A fire alarm at 4:24 AM emptied the entire hotel. There was no obvious indication at the elevators as to where the exit stairs might be. This is a safety over site. After we found the stairs and exited, we just got into our car and drove away. All-in-all, not up to "Hilton" standards.
