We stayed at Giants after touring around all day, well what a surprise, accommodation caters for 5 couple, two bathrooms and two toilets, it was very clean and well equipped. It had a back balcony overlooking lawn, trees and a platypus pond, also feed the lama’s. the restaurant was exceptionally good and the food was so nice. A lot of thought has been put into this place and it is so worth a visit.

Stayed Cabin 1B Feb 2024. Entry was by coded lock box. Very clean and spacious cabin. Comfortable bed, good shower. Cabin was well equipped with 2 bedrooms (queen bed / 3 single beds) 2 x hotplates, mini-oven, microwave, full sized fridge, smart TV, shower over spa bath, washing machine, dryer, air conditioning and heater. Telstra phone and internet service were fine. Very quiet location (we stayed on a Sunday night). The highlight of our stay was watching the resident platypus in the little lake at the back of the property. Would definitely stay here again, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have stayed many times at these cottages and there are a few issues but overall not deal breakers. Cabin 6A the light in the bathroom didn't work so it was hard to see at night and no spare bulb, the shampoo bottle supplied was empty. Cabin 1A had a broken blind that was not fixed and there was no privacy from this also the tv remote was broken. The cleaners need to check things more closely and get the owners getting things broken fixed. Also the bins outside were so full and rubbish was all over the ground. Somebody needs to take charge and make sure that the cottages as a whole are looking and maintained to a sufficient standard in 2023.

Very friendly manager and helpful. The cottages were updated and roomy. It felt like home. It was a nice place for walking around the grounds.

Internet is vital at this location as other than Telstra mobile there is no mobile coverage. Thus having no internet access due to non extant wifi signal was a real problem. However there was some wifi signal improvement just prior to leaving but this needs to be addressed for a permanent improvement.

We stayed for three nights at this delightful place. There are a number of separated cottages that had been staff quarters for the Australian Newsprint Mills. Now they are beautifully renovated, fully equipped self-catering residences. They are set in lovely green grounds with a series of ponds which are said to have platypus, although the river through them was flowing a bit too strongly for us to see them. Our cottage, number 4, was as neat and clean as a new pin. We were two couples but it could have accommodated eight adults comfortably. The on site restaurant was closed for lack of a chef when we visited but we had a grand meal at the National Park Hotel. We used this as a base to visit Lake Pedder and National Park, Lake Dobson and Russell Falls. All terrific.

I got a call 3 days before we were to arrive saying they had to cancel because of a plumbing problem. I had booked this at least 5 months prior to arrival. No suitable alternative was provided, I had to ask. So I spent the afternoon looking for accommodation as I was already on the road

If you're not expecting super luxury this place will suit. It's a bit old and rough around the edges but perfectly comfortable.

Stay not recommended....CABIN 7. Yuck - unclean, needed to wash everything in kitchen before use. TV was positioned where there was no power point - fortunately we had packed an extension cord. The shower drains filled up when showering. the fire place was not clean from previous use and flue needs a clean as the room filled with smoke. AC didn't work. The cabin had a horrible smell - musty,? mouldly? or just not aired in a long time...??
