Machangulo Beach Lodge

Friendly and professionell service and fabulous sourroundings. Long boat ride a bit bumpy but safe. We would certainly like to come back at any time and can recommend the beach lodge with nice beaches and nice views

We enjoyed our two nights/ 2 and a half days in this safe Beach Lodge in gorgeous setting. It definitely caters for the Western tourist. We were shown other ‘lodges’ in Inhaca Island which would have given a more authentic African experience ( and no doubt there are more exclusive ones too) but I think we’d have felt very exposed in them. Interesting trips available; the coral reef for snorkelling was a very interesting surprise. The beaches are pristine and the surroundings idyllic. Tge staff are amazingly attentive and friendly. Thank you, smiling Claudio, attentive Joseph and the multi talented Paulo. Breakfasts are good, the pizza lunch we had was very good; but evening meals are disappointing. Wi-Fi is good in the communal areas but didn’t always reach the cabins.

Located just 1.5 hours by boat from Maputo, Machangulo Lodge is on a magnificent virgin beach. The service is excellent and it is a place where you can relax and enjoy the sea. Rooms are very spacious with a wonderful view

Beautiful lodge with excellent view. The room was very good and clean. The staff was nice and very helpful. It was easy to enjoy life at this quiet beach lodge. The departure time was adjusted due to the weather. This turned out to be a good idea. The price was higher than the price we experienced at other lodges, most likely because he boat trip was included. It would be good to have that specified.

Wonderful 4 days at the most beautiful lodge. Booking was an absolute pleasure with Christiaan. The friendly, highly experienced and efficient staff greeted us and proceeded to make our holiday an absolute pleasure. They were all so professional and polite. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The remote location makes it very exciting as we drove in our 4x4 vehicle through the elephant park to this idyllic spot. The walks on the beaches to swimming in the crystal clear waters were absolutely amazing. All aspects of the lodge had stunning sea views and we highly recommend this place for a holiday or honeymoon ❤️

Beautiful place, quiet and peaceful, right by the ocean. Food was ok and staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a trip on a dhow and swam in the ocean. The room was spacious with no mosquitos but good air con and a fan. Fantastic views, birds and butterflies.

What a wonderful holiday! Our family of 4 (mum, dad and 2 boys aged 9 &11) joined a family with 2 girls (10&12yrs) for 8 days at this magnificent lodge. We left Maputo Marina in a little speedboat and jetted over the glassy sea for 1hr15 to reach the lodge which is situated on the south end of Machangulo Peninsula. The lodge exceeded all our expectations. The staff were attentive and absolutely delightful in all their communication- nothing was too much of an effort. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with breathtaking views. Bathrooms are big with lots of hot water and white fluffy towels. Breakfast and dinner at the lodge were excellent- delicious seafood and a variety of other menu offerings, and an extensive breakfast buffet with hot options. The homemade breads and pastries were YUM. We had wonderful dives in the Inhaca Reserve, and thoroughly enjoyed the island tour and lunch at Lucas's restaurant on Inhaca. Not often I return to places (so many others to experience!), but I will certainly come back to Machangulo.

Just a doable boat ride from Maputo you feel as though you are on a secluded Island with staff that is as friendly as helpful and forthcoming as you would wish for. You can wind down, learn to live with nature again and within a short time are closer again to where you belong. A special thanks again to all the staff, you made our stays perfect.

the view, the beach, the location is fantastic. Large bathroom with good shower pressure and large balconies. But there are also some things that is disappointing. There wasn't a minibar/fridge as big as it should have been, maybe the worst thing is that we didn't have internet in the room (the balcony (even though it was written in our travel documents that it was hig speed internet (we had some work responsibility, which became difficult to carry out due to the lack of internet) In the bars there was a very unstable & slow internet . The bed was very hard & that was not good for the back, The massage lady was very good & nice. we stayed in Ocean view rom (i think the best location on the resort)
