1. The value for money is incredible. I booked a twin room in advance for two adults and one child. It had two 1.4-meter double beds. The bathroom wasn't quite as shown in the Ctrip room layout, it didn't have a separate shower and toilet area, but it was still perfectly adequate, and the room felt quite spacious.
2. The hotel is located directly opposite Matsumoto Bus Terminal and is also very close to the JR station. There's a stationery shop downstairs, and the hotel reception is on the sixth floor. The hotel occupies two floors, the fifth and sixth. You need to take off your shoes in the lobby area, and you can store them in the shoe lockers.
3. There's a large supermarket in the basement of the bus terminal, which is super convenient. We had booked the 5:30 AM bus from Matsumoto to Kamikochi for the next day, and the hotel is just across the road from the bus terminal, making it very easy to get there.
4. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent. The hotel also has a public bath, which isn't particularly small and is very clean and comfortable.
5. The staff were all very friendly and professional. We bought a melon and asked the front desk to borrow a knife and a plate.
6. Housekeeping was very thoughtful; they left supplies, water, and towels at our room door every day.

they said to take off shoes at the entrance, but the slippers are in the room. so the lobby and hallway are a breeding ground for foot fungus. when i got to the room, i noticed the carpet was dirty. it looked like animal hair.
there's so much constant noise from exhaust fans that my ears were ringing loudly the next day. it's tinnitus inducing.
the breakfast was disgusting and mostly sugar water. i drank the broth that they called soup and i ate the disgusting cake. i felt my blood sugar spike a lot even though i didn't eat the macaroni and bread. they're promoting diabetes and it doesn't even taste good. soon after, i felt nauseous and sick to my stomach like i was about to vomit. i felt sick for hours.
the sales pitch should be: get tinnitus, athletes foot, and diabetes here!
for my 2nd day in matsumoto, i booked a cheaper hotel ~150meters away that includes a buffet breakfast

I recently stayed at Hotel M Matsumoto and had a wonderful experience.
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its excellent location. It is conveniently located near Matsumoto Station, making it easy to travel around the city and visit nearby attractions. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores within walking distance.
The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay.
I booked a private room, which offered much more space than a typical sleeping pod or capsule hotel. I was able to comfortably open my luggage, organize my belongings, and move around without feeling cramped. The room was also very quiet, allowing me to rest well after a long day of traveling and sightseeing.
One of my favorite features of the hotel was the large public bath. It was a great place to relax and unwind after exploring the city. Although the hours for female guests were somewhat limited, I still really enjoyed having access to this facility.
The common area was also very comfortable and well-maintained. Guests can borrow a wide selection of manga for free, which was a nice touch. Another great benefit is the complimentary bicycle rental service, allowing guests to use bicycles for up to three hours free of charge.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Hotel M Matsumoto to anyone planning to visit Matsumoto. The combination of its convenient location, comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, and friendly staff makes it a great choice for travelers.

Very good

Everything was perfect, the room was clean and well-maintained, with great amenities. The only downside was the reception experience. Most of the staff appeared quite unfriendly and rarely smiled. During check-in, one receptionist seemed somewhat impatient and placed the information sheet on the counter rather abruptly after explaining the facilities and amenities, which made me feel a little unwelcome. Other than that, I had a very pleasant stay.

Rooms and amenities are super good for their value! However, do note that many things are chargeable. Customer service can be demanding at time

The location is super convenient, really close to both the train and bus stations. There's even a Daiso in the same building, though we didn't have time to check it out. The soundproofing could be a bit better; a few times we thought someone was knocking on our door, but it was probably just people walking by in the hallway.
Our stay was pretty short, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the hotel's hot spring or read any of their manga (they had so many classics!).
The room itself was huge, definitely the biggest we stayed in on this trip to Japan. Overall, it was a comfortable stay, and having restaurants nearby for dinner was a big plus.

The double room in this hotel was quite spacious. The environment and hygiene were both excellent, and the bedding was comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. It's also conveniently located near the train station, right next to the bus terminal.

Capsule Hotel that do the job, clean and neat. The facilities are very news. just be aware if you have a car they do not have free parking. Ask to the hotel before to park your car you can have special price.

It was awesome! Recommended for female solo traveler who need privacy yet doesn’t feel to be “alone”
My choice was capsule with private space and it big! Free towel, face towel everyday. They have public onsen (I didn’t used it) and full of amenities! Not really far from station, and you can found discount food and groceries at Alpico store just about a min walk! So cool!! I end up eating sashimi and bento everyday because it was so close! Love it!!

This city hotel offers great value for money. It's budget-friendly and perfectly located, making it super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the service is excellent, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The real highlight is the large public bath. It's spacious and the water quality is fantastic. After a day of exploring Matsumoto Castle, a soak there is incredibly relaxing and a truly wonderful experience.
I highly recommend this place for anyone on a budget who also values a good onsen experience. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
