Good location and pretty clean. But very limited services

Decent room. Good position within walking distance to interesting areas. Parking should be included, but it was absolutely not. We could only park in a public underground parking lot, and it cost 17 € for one night. We were also not satisfied with the lead-up to our visit. We were supposed to get check-in instruction 24 hours before - I had tried to make contact twice and started to worry. We only got a message 1 hour before check-in time. And the host wanted us to send photos of our passport/ID by mail - but you should never do so since the security is not ok at all. We called the host after arrival, and after few minutes he came and opened the door.

Before our arrival, we only received ******* confirmation, which did not include direct contact info with owner. I messaged owner via ******* app, the day before but no reply. We were supposed to receive check in instructions day(s) before. We arrived extra early to find the apartment and tried calling owner. Luckily, owner understood we were early and at apartment, so sent her husband to greet us. He spoke enough english to explain things and gave us tips on seeing Matera. Thank goodness it all worked out.

Excellent property. Very nice location. Check-in very smooth. The most reliable parking is the paid underground parking nearby. No breakfast.
