Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia - Gran Lujo

We’ve been looking a while now to find a quality hotel that doesn’t involve a long haul flight and finally we found the Seaside Grand. We booked with TUi purely due to the early afternoon flight from Manchester and return. We arrived early evening and were greeted at Reception with a cool face cloth and a drink of our choice. Check in was quick and efficient and after relaxing with our drinks on the terrace we were shown around the small hotel and then to our room, which had a garden view and the sun on the balcony as requested. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice of smoothies, cereals,bread, with Bacon, eggs, omelettes etc being cooked freshly to order. After breakfast most days we would go for a walk,returning about 12.00 ish and there was always sunbeds available and the pool service guy would set the beds up in the sun or shade depending on your preference. Drinks and snacks available around the pool and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The spa facilities were very relaxing before heading to the room to get ready for dinner. Pre dinner cocktails were served on the terrace before dinner, and although a bit expensive they were again excellent. (€13 Gin + €5.50 Tonic) ouch! Dinner was an experience every night, from the very knowledgeable sommelier to the friendly staff. Evening entertainment was low key but high quality, I particularly loved the guitarist. Over the ten days there we only really had two areas for improvement; one would be sunbeds being reserved before breakfast and not being used until after we’d returned from our post breakfast walk. As the towels are put out by the pool staff this is easily resolved, if people aren’t going to use the sunbeds from when he puts the towels down then he should explain this to the guests and just remove them again. The second concern is the inconsistent billing, sometimes we would be asked for our room number, sometimes our room number but then they told us our surname rather than asking us, sometimes we were presented with a bill to sign other times we weren’t. On a few occasions our room number was wrong on the bill and we had drinks and a tip added to our room bill for drinks we hadn’t had. I would suggest when ordering drinks guests are asked to confirm their room number and their name so staff can check these are correct, they should then ask if a bill is required to sign or a copy of the bill is required. That said these minor points didn’t spoil our stay and we are looking forward to visiting again next year.

So, this is just a brief note to say that I love the Seaside Grand Residencia. I stayed at the sister hotel Palm Beach, which I also love, and decided to prolong my stay with one night. I asked GM Nicole of the Palm Beach if she thought it would be a good idea to try the Grand Residencia, and she thought it would be an excellent idea. She even drove me with her car the 200 meters from Palm beach to Grand Residencia. Wow, talk about VIP service. I felt very special! The welcome to the GHR was flawless with the bell captain waiting to whisk my suitcase away. The front desk offered me a welcome drink, and then I was escorted to my deluxe room with pool view. The room is super nice. Quite big, about 40m2 I would say, and with all the amenities you would expect from a 5GL star hotel. Complimentary fruit and water were available and there were yellow roses scattered about the room and in the bathroom. There was a king-size bed and two comfortable armchairs. The balcony had very comfortable chairs and a small table and the view was facing the pool area. In the hotel that is not a problem because it’s just a quiet, beautiful area. I had half-board, so breakfast and dinner were included. The food was exceptional! Both dinner and breakfast. The service is out of this world and makes this place truly special. I would love to have been able to stay another couple of nights (or weeks!) but I had to get back to real life. I would love to go back! To finish this review, I need to say that I also love Palm Beach. Since these hotels are sister hotels, I hope management won’t mind. The GHR is a smaller, much more intimate property with very personalized service and I believe adult-only, while Palm beach is a bigger property with more action going on.

My family spent a week at this hotel for a reunion with guests from San Francisco, New York and Europe. The hotel was outstanding. We played golf at four local courses, each challenging and entertaining. The pool area is so relaxing and staff are fantastic. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails on the terrace and the dinners each night were fine dining, a very nice wine list including Chateaux Musar (my favourite). Rooms are spacious with a colonial feel. We are planning to return next year for another get together.

After many visits to the hotel there is always a fear that things may have changed …. However at Grand Residencia everything continues to be perfect ! From the greeting at reception, the spotless room, attentive pool staff and of course excellent food we could not have wished for more. Staff greet everyone around the hotel with smiles and are so efficient. Even after all these years (since 2002 we think) we will be back again soon 🥰

Everything first class. Helpful staff, beautiful room and facilities and the food was definitely what I would call fine dining.

Another Great holiday at this hotel and we’ve already booked again for next year. Very difficult to fault which is why we’re happy to keep going back when it meets all our needs. We decided there is no point going somewhere different when we suspect we will be disappointed in comparison. The staff are all very pleasant and go out of their way to make your stay all that you want. Everywhere is spotless, food exceptional. There are a very high number of guests that return each year , which proves Grand Residencia is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday . For adults I would happily recommend it 5 stars all round. For children possibly a different hotel which has more facilities with them in mind.
