Zen Hotel Versilia Reviews

There were two tour groups occupying the hotel in the week that we stayed - one British, one German - so the restaurant was pretty full each evening. However the menus offered some degree of choice within each course and the food was generally good and ample. Of course they make quite a bit on the bar as well! Breakfast is all self-service with choices of various teas, coffee, juices, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, pastries, breads, jams, cakes. There is also a limited 'hot' (i.e. lukewarm) offering of scrambled eggs, baked beans and chopped wurst - definitely not sausages as we know them. Our room was on the 4th floor and exceptionally large when compared to others on the fire escape map. The bathroom facilities were very good and the bed was spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of storage space and the operating instructions for the safe were easy to understand. Our balcony had a side view so we could see the mountains and the sea. Don't expect much from the TV - there are no English language channels at all! If the AC settings on the wall fail to work, it is likely that it has been blocked by reception when the last guests checked out. They can turn the settings back on.

Staff were friendly, were patient with my appalling Italian, but all spoke excellent English and German. Breakfasts were vary varied and catered for all tastes, from cold meats and cheeses, delicious breads and pastries and a choice of cooked eggs and sausage. Dinners were plentiful though I would have liked many more vegetables, but it’s an Italian thing that the dinner followed the usual pattern - self serve antipasti, different pastas each evening ( my favourite was with a Gorgonzola and pear sauce), followed by a meat or fish course with potatoes or a green veg. Puddings were varied and wines were excellent, though I recommend the Aperol Spritz! Of course, there was an a la Carte menu that provided great variety. We chose the hotel because it was modern, and we were not disappointed. A spacious lounge and comfortable dining room, and the bedroom was a good size with a balcony overlooking the Apuan Alps. Try a higher floor for the view though beware that people on the excellent pool and sunbathing area on the roof could lean over to see you. The furniture on the balcony was uncomfortable and both chairs were broken and needed replacement. The internet was free but variable, so I wouldn’t rely on it. Luckily we didn’t want to watch television but, had we, there were no English speaking channels, not even a news one. I would suggest this was the one a gap in the services. Were we to return to the area I would have no hesitation in staying here.

The hotel is generally good.. comfortable rooms and clean facilities. The food is excellent and plentiful. However a couple of the staff leave a lot to be desirable…. One receptionist in particular is very nasty… patronising and rude. We quite reasonably asked a couple of times for more shower gel as the minute sachets were not sufficient for two people showering twice a day. She said in a very sarcastic way that it was funny that we were the only room requesting this. Also when we had a problem with the safe, she rolled her eyes and tutted implying that we were an inconvenience to her. We will be complaining directly to the senior manager about this horrible staff member. She needs training in customer service or be sacked… Another staff member told us off for taking a banana from the breakfast buffet!! Absurd, given that you can have as much as you like and there is no shortage of food. Pathetic…

We stayed a week at Hotel Zen Versilia and were very impressed with almost everything about this hotel. It was very clean, the food was excellent with a wide range of choice and the rooms were lovely. We had a very large comfortable bed with a mountain view balcony. There was plenty of room and the air conditioning was perfect. The bathroom was well appointed - the towels were plentiful, very large and fluffy. I did have to ask for a plastic mat as the shower tray was lethally slippy when wet. I enjoyed the pool very much despite it being only 90cm deep and I had a good swim every day. The hotel is in a residential area and is a 12 minute walk to the beach and bus stops each way. (Buses available to Pietrasanta, Lucca and Viareggio, there’s a Tabacchi to buy tickets on the way.) It is a 15-20 minute walk to the ‘pier’ - a very long fishing jetty with statues but no shade. The hotel is probably too far out of the centre for those of lesser mobility. The only other point they need to sort is the pool towels. They leave a pile there unguarded and some people take 3 or 4 and newcomers have to go back down to reception to ask for more. The sunloungers are not comfortable and there’s only 6. Toasting one’s back is very tricky and there’s no mattresses. However, all in all this is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff who were obliging and helpful. I would stay there again quite happily. It is also very quiet at night.

I recently stayed at this hotel on a group trip. The hotel was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable. However myself and several members of the group had difficulties in the restaurant. The tall broad manager was constantly arrogant and rude. It spoilt the meal times there. He was really nasty on several occasions and the under staff who were helpful felt u.ndermined by his behaviour. The breakfast food was good however the evening meals consisted of so much pasta which was not fresh just stodgy. I would stay in this region again but definitely not here

Nonostante abbia soggiornato solo per 2 notti, ti fanno sentire a casa, accoglienti e gentilissimi, la proprietaria è davvero un’ottima padrona di casa. Il cibo buono ed abbondante, dalla colazione alla cena, stanze pulite e spaziose, l’hotel dispone anche di una terrazza panoramica con piscina e tutti i servizi annessi. Ottima location in centro… unico neo il parcheggio che non è agevolissimo. Esperienza più che positiva nel complesso.

Quello che colpisce di più è la colazione molto varia e qualitativa. Bella la piscina sul tetto e carine le stanze. Migliorabile il servizio di pulizia quotidiano che tende a tralasciare di spolverare. Consiglio di alzare l aria condizionata nella hall, si rischia di ammalarsi

Hotel in buona posizione sia per il mare, che per il centro. Camera spaziosa e moderna. Unico neo mancanza di armadio chiuso e spazio contenitivo nel bagno. Colazione con buffet eccellente, veramente variegata e di buona qualità. Personale cortese.

Hotel recente con belle e comode camere. Ottima la posizione in una bella zona vicinissimo alla spiaggia e con 10 minuti di passeggiata si arriva nel centro. Personale gentile e disponibile sia alla reception che ristorante . Segnaliamo solo la colazione al minimo come qualità per un 4 stelle. C'è di tutto dal dolce al salato senza grande scelta ma ci aspettavamo un qualità migliore con prodotti locali invece quasi tutto industriale . Forse perchè in questa stagione l'albergo era occupato per lo più da tedeschi? Mah peccato

Ho prenotato questo hotel per mio figlio e la sua ragazza che sono rimasti contentissimi . Il personale era gentilissimo e tutto era curato nei minimi particolari. Anche il ristorante era buono e tutto ben presentato . L hotel e’ in una buona posizione e sicuramente da raccomandare.

meravigliosa scoperta, hotel nuovissimo, molto confortevole, punti di forza: - colazione spettacolare, degna di un 5 stelle sia per quantità ma soprattutto per qualità - gentilezza del personale incredibile, sono disponibili al 100%, sempre sorridenti e accomodanti - camera confortevole con bel bagno e ampio balcone - vicino al mare - piscina sul tetto super top ho passato due giorni fantastici, un hotel che si vale ogni centesimo speso. Bravi e complimenti, ci rivedremo presto

Siamo stati in questo Hotel per uno stage organizzato da Gotennis. 3 giorni di tennis. Abbiamo approfittato per far coincidere la terza festa del nostro recente matrimonio. Lo staff è stato cortesissimo e ci hanno alloggiato in una superior con vasca idromassaggio all'ultimo piano. Abbiamo ordinato il pranzo per 20 persone. Qualità e varietà del cibo (pesce) straordinari per non parlare delle quantità. Servizio ineccepibile. Location ottima! Bravi!! Consigliatissimo.
