The natural environment of the hotel is very good and suitable for snorkeling. It is a very friendly and low-key island, more suitable for family travel. It’s not far from Male, and it takes 20 minutes to get to the island by speedboat.

Top snorkeling holy place! You can go to the opposite Banyan Tree for free, with towering trees, but the rooms are slightly smaller, and the meals are more popular. Overall, it is a very good resort.

Our family often comes to Maldives and stayed here for five nights. Let's talk about the good and bad objectively. Good: 1) There is a Malaysian lady at the front desk who can speak Chinese, and she can serve Chinese families who are not good at English very well and in a timely manner. The lady's surname is wong, and she is very patient and meticulous, but sometimes she is on the morning shift and can't find her at night. 2) The overall quality of the service staff on the island is OK. They are polite and always greet you. Hary, the general manager of the island, is probably a Singaporean? The person who is fluent in English is very kind, and he also pays attention to the preferences and opinions of customers. He said that if Chinese people are not used to eating meals, they can ask the chef to cook some Chinese dishes. 3) The state of snorkeling is OK. We were lucky to see sea turtles, many nurse sharks and a few clusters of living corals. Because the island is very small, there are five water inlets for a detour. It takes about three days to finish watching it. After a few days, I have no interest in going into the water, and there is nothing new. And in the off-season, it is windy, waves, heavy rain and mixed water, and there will be big waves and choking water, or you will come up without seeing anything. Oh, by the way, there is a very lonely heron wandering around on this island, and many children went to take a group photo. bad: 1) Hygiene is a big issue! Our family has been to the Maldives three times. Among the mosquito bites this time, cockroaches and ants are the most. Other islands do not seem to be like this. Our family has 15+ mosquito bites and it is extremely itchy. There is mosquito repellent liquid inserted in the room but it is ineffective, and there are several cockroaches after spraying the mosquito spray. 2) We chose the all-inclusive three-board drink, the breakfast is almost the same every day, and the lunch and dinner are also extremely repetitive. Maybe other friends can try to order food, there are options such as burgers and bento boxes. If it is all inclusive, it must be very tired to eat for three days. 3) The snorkeling tubes, masks, flippers, and life jackets provided by the diving center for free are of poor quality. And the banana boats on other islands are free to play. Here, it costs 40 US dollars for 15 minutes. The price of going to sea is also high and his dive guide's English is not very good. 4) The sister island Banyan Tree and Dhawa are very similar. They are both small islands with almost the same beach style, and the shuffle boat runs every two hours, which means that I went to Banyan Tree and walked around for ten minutes, and then I had to wait. 1h45 back to your own island. 5) The room was not cleaned in a timely manner, and the sheets hadn't been changed for five days, why should a tropical island be changed every two days! It’s just that the waiter makes the bed a little bit every day... The toothbrushes given are not timely or not enough, and the waiter’s English is very plastic.

The rooms are average, the food and beverages are not rich but the products are excellent. The snorkeling environment is very good, you can see sharks and turtles. The service is pretty good, the room and yard are cleaned very well. The island is very small and only takes 10 minutes to walk around. You can participate in the hotel's snorkeling, fishing, and dolphin watching at reasonable prices. There is a gym but no swimming pool.

Six bottles of drinking water are provided in the room every day, which is very good. The snorkeling environment is very good. A few meters after swimming, the trench is just a few meters away. It is very comfortable to take a bubble bath every night. There are Chinese-speaking service staff at the front desk, and you can take a speedboat to go nearby for free. Snorkeling in the sister islands, the meals are all ordered, and the taste is also good. Online service staff are very enthusiastic

I almost don't know where to start! From the moment we arrived the attentive staff could not do enough. Everybody smiling and doing their best to ensure our stay was magical. And it was! The island is relatively small with no water bungalows but our beach bungalow was superbly located just a few feet from the crystal clear water and was cleaned regularly without us noticing. It was spotless and had everything we wanted. Food at the resort is first class and fresh ! Special mention to Pawan on the morning egg station who could present whatever way you wanted your eggs done with ease. The fruit station at breakfast was extensive and expertly dispatched by Sunil. Our evening cocktails were prepared and served with a smile from the lovely Hanan and Nishanth and meals served by Sujina our wonderful waitress. All the staff at Dhaka Ihuru are exceptional and made our experience one to remember. It is worth noting this is an intimate setting with only one restaurant and one bar with a sandy floor, however, the sister island is supported by a boat taxi every two hours if you wish to vary your surroundings. We totally loved our stay and can highly recommend the resort.

Where to start with gorgeous Ihuru??? For us, it had to be the reef - our reason for choosing the island, and we weren’t disappointed. It’s healthy (relatively) with many types of coral including soft corals, an abundance and huge variety of fish, plus several turtles, three species of shark and an amazingly-camouflaged porcupine ray. We spent several hours a day snorkelling on the reef and loved every minute. The island is small and beautiful. It was exactly as we had hoped. We’d asked for a west facing villa on a good stretch of beach, and our request was met. We were very happy with our bungalow and the lovely, secluded garden area. The sunsets from this side are phenomenal. You may read about sand pumping and sand bags here - and in many islands. We’d been worried before arrival that they would spoilt the natural beauty, but no sand pumping took place during our stay and the sand bags are a lot less intrusive than we had expected. All the staff are without fail wonderful. Friendly, chatty, smiling. The food is good to very good. Always a live cooking station - breakfast, lunch and dinner, and choice of curries, pasta, salads, desserts. Cocktails are good too, especially if you’re on the upgraded plan. We were able to choose to sit outside at every meal too, on the deck by the sea, listening to the waves. This is a real bonus in Maldives as many islands don’t have sufficient space for this, meaning meals are taken under cover. We took part in the reef clean and definitely recommend it. We joined Hood from the marine centre to spot and remove invasive coral killers from the reef. It was very rewarding to do. There is a good choice of activities if you want them. I had a massage with Meli which was excellent. We also joined a sunset cruise on a super catamaran, and went parasailing which provided amazing views across the island and the neighbouring Banyan Tree. Our package included a delicious seafood dinner on the beach outside our villa. It was so special to be there, the lobster grilled alongside us is the best we’ve ever had. Absolutely wonderful. If you want to stay on a small, unpretentious but quality island with amazing snorkelling, tasty fresh food, fabulous staff and beautiful surroundings, look no further than Dhawa Ihuru.

We just returned from Dhawa Ihuru 2 weeks ago. This was our last stop for 10 nights before heading home. We were disappointed thinking that it was a 5 star hotel. The villa we received was very dated and needed a lot of work. It did have a great view from the front porch area to the water. The room had cracked tile and needed serious painting. The bed was like a rock to sleep on. The bathroom needed updating as well. The faucets in the sink were backwards for on and off and the toilet ran unless you jiggled the handle. The blind next to the bed did not go all the way down to the window sill and we had to prop a pillow and towel against it to keep the light out. It was an old blind and could not go any lower to shut out the light. We were moved our last day, which was nice to be able to do as we had a later flight out of Male. They moved us to a newly renovated room which was an improvement from our room we had for 10 days. It's beach area was not as good as our original location. I guess. they don’t have many renovated at this point and the room we had was needed a serious update. Food was very disappointing. The 3 nights of the menu ordering were very good and nice choices. This food was served hot and was well presented. Whereas the other days of buffet, breakfast, lunch and dinner, the food was either lukewarm to maybe a low warm. We learned quickly to try and scoop from the bottom in hopes of getting food that warm. We started putting the hashbrowns at breakfast in the toaster to get them warm to eat. Have been to many resorts with buffets in the Maldives and have never had this be an issue on food temperature. It is rather unpleasant for so many days to only have lukewarm food. We would arrive close to opening times for lunch and dinner and it wasn’t that it had been sitting out, it was the first food set out for the meals. It seemed even when they brought out refills from the kitchen that food was not very warm to begin with on the buffet line. The grill area did well in serving the breakfast and the grill food or stir fries for other meals. The main issue was the buffet and not keeping the food warm. We laughed as the food was not warm and the cocktails were not cold. This really needs to be fixed. With all of this, it is not a 5 star property. The grounds are very nice and the staff are very friendly. The reef is a great reef for exploring and in good condition. We were able to one day do the complete circle of the island. It is a healthy reef which is great to see. The only advantage in our mind is the boat transfer back to and from Male. I would say the resort is maybe a lower 4 star quality. We do stay in a 4 star in the Maldives and it is more a 5 star than Dhawa Ihuru. I am not sure how they earned their 5 star listing but we had just arrived from another island that was 5 star before this stay and Dhawa is no near the quality to being a 5 star property.
