The Majestic Malacca Hotel - Small Luxury Hotels of The World

Malacca City Center Melaka|1.19km from Muzium Setem Melaka
**Overall Rating: 9/10** My stay at The Majestic Malacca was delightful, earning a solid 9 out of 10 for its excellent service, well-appointed rooms, and overall experience. However, there's room for improvement, particularly in refining the conduct of the guest liaison officer. **Building: 8/10** Despite being relatively small, The Majestic Malacca impresses with a complete array of amenities. However, minor issues like the broken lock in the lobby men's restroom need attention. **Christmas Celebration Package: 8/10** The festive package offered fun activities with impressive prizes, although luck wasn't on my side. The dinner, albeit a bit disappointing, exuded a lively vibe, making the celebration enjoyable. **Breakfast: 9/10** The breakfast experience was exceptional! The Nasi Lemak was outstanding and a must-try. Although the menu is excellent, incorporating new dishes could enhance the overall variety. The à la carte dining provided a fine-dining experience, encouraging guests to dress well and indulge in the gastronomic delights offered. **Room: 8.5/10** The room was inviting with a fantastic view, scoring an 8.5 out of 10. While the amenities like an iron and ironing board were not readily available, they were promptly provided upon request. The bed's comfort level added to the overall positive experience. **Would I Revisit?** Absolutely! The Majestic Malacca stands as a beacon of a well-rounded hotel experience, especially with its delectable breakfast and convenient proximity to Malacca's main attractions. In conclusion, despite minor areas for improvement, The Majestic Malacca is a definite recommendation for those seeking a charming hotel with top-notch service and a delightful breakfast experience. Sincerely, Your happy guest <3

Malacca City Center Melaka|1.37km from Muzium Setem Melaka
This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.

This is a funny hotel, there is a sign show that cannot smoking in room but that is full of smoking smell when I enter my room ,for 4 nights the smell still strong. They didn't change bed sheet at all as I found a bits of food (some vegetables with sauce) on the bedsheets that cover by the bed runner. I request to change to new room but they just allow to change bedsheets for, me. OK it's fine, the hot water in bathroom will auto turn to cold water after shower for 5 mins and have to wait for 10 mins for the hot water back. I have to take half an hour just for shower. The hair dryer was the same, it cannot be function after use just for 1 min!!!! The receptionist told me that it will auto turn off when it is too hot, halo? I stay a lot of hotel but I never get a hair dryer that will auto turn off after 1 min!!!! If 10mins still acceptable !!! Won't visit this hotel again, ady get my very unforgettable experience!

Jonker
Located exactly at the heart of the heritage buildings, a stone throw away to the famous Jonker Walk. The property is clean and offer a magnificent view to the Melacca Palace Museum. Staffs are friendly and accommodating with some reasonable favor requested. However, the downside to this property is the limited parking bays available and poor water pressure at the top floor's room. Privacy may be a concern to certain travelers as it is right next to a public park.

This was an okay hotel, but did have a little bit of a mosquito problem which was surprising because I was on the second or third floor of the building. The bathroom was also missing a toilet seat for the toilet, which was unusual. Otherwise it was an okay place to stay.

This is my fifth trip to Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As usual, I decided to stay near Jonker Street, the Chinatown of Melaka. This time, I had chosen Quayside Hotel as I wanted to experience a stay near the river. Upon alighting at Melaka Sentral Bus Station, I took Panorama Bus No. 17 at its Domestic Bus Terminal. It costs RM2 per person. The journey took about 20mins and I alighted outside Stadhuys, which is a short 5mins walk to Quayside Hotel. I had booked a Premier Queen Room for a two nights stay and was accommodated in Room No. 204. The room has a balcony which offers a view of the Melaka River. During the morning, it is relaxing to sit at the balcony and enjoy the tranquilness of the river and its surroundings. By night, the riverside is good for crowd-watching. It can get lively and a little noisy as it is just a stone’s throw away from the Melaka River Cruise Jetty. The room measures 21 square metres and Is comfortable for two guests. On the other hand, the bathroom is a little small whereby there is no partition separating the shower area and the wash basin. Hence, the bathroom floor gets wet each time after a shower. Even after switching on the water heater switch, the shower is lukewarm. The hotel provides the basic room amenities such as dental kit, shower gel, shampoo, shower cap, hand soap, hair dryer, electric kettle, mini fridge, coffee, tea and drinking water. There is no electronic safe. I had no major issues with the Wi-Fi network during my stay here, though it is a little weak at the balcony area. TV entertainment is limited to selective cable channels such as CNBC, Cinemax & Boomerang (Cartoon network). The room has poor sound insulation. Kids running and the dragging of chair in the neighbouring room can cause some disturbance. So it depends entirely on who your neighbours are. However, I understand that this hotel is housed at the site of an old customs warehouse. As the hotel is of an industrial warehouse theme, the design and build of the rooms do not offer good soundproof walls. This hotel has been operating since 2013 and I believed there has been no major refurbishment. The room condition needs to be better maintained and I would recommend the management to consider renovating the property. Whilst the room is not perfect, the stay experience was elevated by the friendly Front Desk Staff. The Housekeeping Staff also cleaned the room well. My room comes with hotel breakfast service. It is located on the ground floor and starts from 8.30am to 10.30am. I am pleasantly surprised at its offerings which although simple, is rather delicious. The menu comprises of rice (Nasi lemak or fried rice), noodles or bee hoon, eggs, hotdogs, curry puffs, cakes and hot beverages like coffee and tea. Other than the breakfast area, there are no facilities in this hotel. The main advantage of staying at Quayside Hotel is its prime location. It is situated right next to the Water Wheel and the nearby old Dutch buildi
