Comfortable, spacious budget stay with just a couple of minor trade-offs "De Ocean Hotel is a solid choice if you're looking for a comfortable stay in Malacca. Here is a breakdown of what the room consists of based on my recent stay: The Pros: Space & Workspace: The room is quite spacious and includes a large table, which is a huge plus. Convenience: There are many plugs available around the room, so charging your phone, laptop, and camera at the same time is a breeze. Amenities: They supply daily toiletries (shampoo, body wash, a toothbrush, and towels) as well as a kettle with coffee and water. Connectivity: The internet is very good for the most part, and there is a telephone to contact the front reception easily. The TV Hack: While it’s a normal TV with just local channels rather than a smart TV, you can easily plug your laptop into it to stream your own shows. The Cons: No Fridge: This was the only major downside I found during my stay—there is no mini-fridge provided in the room. Nighttime Wi-Fi: The internet connection can become a little bit unstable during the night hours. Despite those two minor details, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. I had a great experience and would recommend it.

Booked this last-minute the night before my trip, based on decent reviews. Overall, the cleanliness was acceptable, and the price was reasonable. The location was also good. Downsides: The soundproofing wasn't great, there's no elevator so I had to climb to the second floor, and on the day I checked out, there was no water due to a water pressure issue, so I had to wait.

The location is great and the room is clean, but the soundproofing isn't good. There's no hairdryer, and the water pressure fluctuates. It's not ideal for light sleepers, as there were firecrackers and drums going off in the morning, and I could hear everything happening in the hallway very clearly.

Everything was okay. The air conditioning was super cold, and the mattress was soft and plush. Soap, shampoo, and toothbrushes were provided, and the TV had channels. The only downside was the lack of an elevator. It was a real pain climbing the stairs to the 3rd floor, but luckily, I didn't bring much luggage.

Was absolutely satisfied, would gladly come again. Minor drawback: the street traffic was sometimes quite loud in the room, otherwise there's nothing to complain about.

Ok for a 1 day but the room beside the road avoid it,is like you slept on the main road. The good think is the morning reception, she was very professional and helpful,thanks. Also no lift in the building prepare for heavy luggage.

The service and facilities are good. Quite convenience, many food stalls nearby and the food is nice.

Overall, it was still okay, but cleanliness was disappointing. When I entered the room, there was an ikat tepi hanging on the door and a lot of ants. It was quite disgusting and clearly showed that the room was not cleaned properly before a new guest checked in.

Staff are friendly and kind.Places is near with attractive places and can go everywhere nearly city Center.And also have very delicious dim sum restaurant in this hotel .

S&tayed at De Ocean Hotel Melaka and had a pleasant experience overall. The accommodation was well-maintained, offering a simple, clean, and cozy atmosphere. The room was tidy and comfortable, and the towels provided were clean. However, the bedsheets were a bit old and could use an update. Parking is available, which is convenient for guests traveling by car. It would be even better if the hotel could provide a water dispenser for added convenience. Overall, it's a decent and comfortable stay for short trips in Melaka.

The sheets had blood stains and an unpleasant odor. The air conditioning automatically turned off during the night. The room's soundproofing was subpar, and being close to the road, there was noise at night, so earplugs are a must. The bathroom hygiene was just okay. It's acceptable for a short stay.
