The room felt pretty old, and the air conditioning unit kept dripping water. The bath towels were frayed and seemed to be of poor quality. There were stains on the bedsheets, making me wonder if they hadn't been cleaned or properly checked. To top it off, I even left a disinfectant spray bottle in the bathroom one day. Overall, the experience wasn't great. The hotel is quite old, and I wouldn't really recommend it.

Waited 30-40 minutes of check in, there’s a construction next floor and it’s noisy you can’t sleep

City Garden Hotel Makati is a centrally located, budget-friendly, and generally well-regarded hotel in the heart of Makati’s business district, offering a convenient "home away from home". Known for its friendly service, rooftop pool, and decent dining options, it provides solid value, though some areas may show signs of wear and tear.

I chose this hotel for 4 reasons . 1) I needed to contact someone in Makati 2) breakfast 3) parking 4) swimming pool. I arrived late from the airport and the staff were really nice. First time in Makati. There is nowhere to park in the streets so I was so relieved that they have complimentary valet parking that is a godsend. 5 stars for that. Breakfast is very good from 6.00 to 10.30. The pool is a refresher pool , not a lap pool, but it was most welcome. Towels are provided. Room? A bit smelly but not obtrusive. I slept very well so beds are comfortable. 7-11 and McDo within a minute or so, so that was really welcome. For those looking for nightlife, there is adult entertainment in the adjacent street. Overall? A very good place to stay. Thumbs up from me.

Great spot, but just an average stay. I gave this hotel 5 stars for location, it’s perfect. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience (service, cleanliness, and amenities) was strictly average at 3 stars. It met my basic needs as a solo traveler, but there wasn't anything particularly impressive beyond the location.

City Garden Makati was unfortunately a disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it. You’re better off choosing St. Giles just around the corner or I’M Hotel, which offer a noticeably higher standard. Check‑in already set the tone: guests must sign a form acknowledging a 6000 PHP smoking penalty, yet the room we received smelled like an old smoking room that hadn’t been properly refurbished since being labeled “non‑smoking.” To their credit, a room change was offered, but the second room had its own issues — a blocked toilet and bathtub. The pool area was another letdown. The water looked milky, with hair floating around, and the space itself was very small and slippery. It didn’t feel clean or inviting at all. The so‑called skybar also didn’t live up to its name: just basic garden furniture placed next to an open kitchen. If you want a proper rooftop experience, Antidote at I’M Hotel is a far better choice. The final frustration was being charged 120 PHP for “stains” on the bedsheets — something that felt unreasonable, especially since normal use can leave minor marks and there’s no way to prove whether they were already there. Overall, City Garden Makati falls short in cleanliness, maintenance, and value. There are much better options in the immediate area.

Location is good. The staff was friendly, but there were some work was going on for construction work at my Floor I had a good sleep but in the morning after 9 AM they start making noise but after all everything was OK the one thing they gave me the room without Window so that’s the thing I didn’t like about the room otherwise the Roomba clean But the room without Window, I feel like was not really good idea

Excellent hotel

I recently stayed at the City Garden Hotel for 3 days and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome. Check-in was quick and easy, and the concierge was always available to answer questions and provide recommendations for local attractions. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and spotlessly clean. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel's location was also ideal, with easy access to public transportation and walking distance to many key attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

Very accomodating and approachable staff. Has water dispenser in hallways and price is good for food and hotel.
