I booked 2 rooms 2 months in advance. I immediately noticed that I booked 1 night too many, and asked to modify the reservation by 1 night less. They said the room was pre-paid and non-refundable. When I said I made the reservation 3 hours ago and just made a mistake, they hung up on me. In my opinion this is thievery, and an unacceptable procedure. We go to Mahahual every year, and I will never stay there again.

Our stay here was ok. It is what you would expect for the price you pay here. The staff were friendly, but not super helpful. We asked for some drinking glasses as there were none provided in the room, and the staff were uncomfortably reluctant to give us the glasses, suggesting we drink from bottles only. There were no fridges in the rooms, so we instead needed to buy ice down the road to cool our bottles of wine in the sink. The restaurant looked ok, but found it a little bit strange that the only people seems to be using it was the staff themselves eating infront of all the guests, and celebrating what seemed to be a birthday. The rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. All in all an ok stay. Mahahual does have a sea**** problem at certain times of the year, which is unfortunate but can’t be helped.

EXCELENTE LUGAR, LIMPIO, TRANQUILO, COMODO Y CON MUY BUENA UBICACION. LA PLAYA ESTA SUPER BIEN SI TIENES NIÑOS PEQUEÑOS YA QUE EL OLEAJE ES MINIMO PARECE UNA ALBERCA NATURAL GIGANTE; PUEDES VER LOS PECES Y EL ARRECIFE DESDE FUERA DEL AGUA.

Please know that this is just simply average! If you must go, ask for a room facing the ocean! No fridge! Beds OK. Really dated. Nice people who work at the hotel who are willing to assist with ice for the room. Food in restaurant is "good". Beach very nice. Again, hotel really disappointing.

I liked the hotel looked but not how the room. The room looked like it had been used and wasn’t ready for new people to stay.

Check In was 30 min after 15 p.m and there was no excuse for that like a drink or even a verbal excuse. No Breakfast included. Staff hardly greeting the hotel guests. The interior was beaten up, the room not spotless clean, towels and bed-linen had stains, no hot water in the shower, bed was smaller than booked Queen size, the chairs on the balcony old and torn and no table. Clearly NOT the standard of a 4 Star Hotel. Recommend price 105 USD, we paid 173 USD a night! We were absolutely disappointed as this was supposed to be our holiday treat.
