So much nicer than I expected! Coming from the States I had pretty low expectations for a Super 8. But wow could the American Super 8s learn a few things from this place. The room is sparkling clean and modern, with comfy beds and bedding. The breakfast is fabulous, with eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, breads, cheeses, juice, delectable croissants, choice of coffee drinks, and more. There’s a spacious new lobby with sofas and lounge chairs. They will cook you a nice thin crust pizza. You can buy wine and beer. Is this even a Super 8?!
Easy vibes is exactly what we want to express with our Holiday Inn - the niu, Mood Mainz: good mood and joie de vivre. The location near the main train station and the close proximity to the city center makes our Holiday Inn - the niu, Mood Mainz the ideal starting point for activities in the city. In the meantime you can leave your car (for a fee) in the hotel parking lot or in the underground garage. The hub for everyone is our open lobby: cozy sitting area with newspapers, 24-hour reception and 24-hour bar, co-working space - it's all in one and we welcome you warmly. In the morning breakfast is served from the buffet of course, so that everyone can start the day the way he or she likes it best. In the evening we recommend relaxing in the hotel's sauna.99 of our 279 rooms aree equipped with their own pantry with microwave, refrigerator and sink. Here you are independent - practical with small children or if you are staying longer in Mainz. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with safe, soundproof windows that can be opened, flat-screen TV with Bluetooth box and screen mirroring. High-speed WiFi is available throughout the property free of charge. We are happy to set up an extra bed or baby crib. The hotel has plenty of promise but it didn't really meet my expectations I chose the hotel specifically for its underground parking as it's quite some way out of the city centre, and so not somewhere I'd recommend if you didn't have car. When I got there I was told the underground parking was closed for maintenance, and I could park on the street, which at that time of day was impossible. It was only when I pushed the issue they said I could park in the little open air car park at the rear, which was still 15 EUR per day. The room they allocated me had a loud whining noise coming from the bathroom, and would have prevented me sleeping, and when I went to ask for a new room they didn't seem to believe me but then took ages to allocate me a new room. No idea why. One of the nice features of the hotel is if you choose to not have your room cleaned you get a token for a free drink at the bar. The first time I went to claim my drink the bar was closed as they were checking in lots of people, so can only assume were short staffed. The next night there seemed to be a single girl manning both the bar and the front desk and she couldn't cope (not her fault) so I just gave my token to a random guy as I wasn't prepared to wait so long for a free beer. On the positive side they were really helpful when I was stupid enough to drop a bottle of beer in the car park when unpacking my car, and they cleaned it up for me without any fuss. I would recommend staying as close to the centre of the hotel as I was at the far end (315) and the WiFi was very poor, and so had to tether my laptop to my phone. One really nice touch was the room had a bluetooth soundbar so you could play your music on your phone in the room. This was a really nice touch. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but I probably would not stay there again, and definitely not if I didn't have a car.

Great location, right across from Mainz Hbf. Stayed here to watch Bayern vs. Mainz 05 for one night and this hotel was perfect for this. The room is not large and felt a bit dark, the hotel entrance was not easy to spot. The staff were very friendly. The price for what we were looking for was good.

I arrived at the hotel at 12:30 pm, and had sent an email in advance to let them know I will be arriving before official check-in time. My email was literally answered within minutes, and I was happy to find out that they had a room ready for me when I got to the hotel. The reception was busy, so I had to wait for a while as one party was checking in and another checking out, but when it became my turn, the friendly receptionist had me checked in within minutes. My room on the second floor was very nice for a three star hotel, and I might even go as far as to say that the room met four star standards. It was probably recently renovated, as it felt very fresh and modern and was in impeccable condition. It was not very large, but came with a balcony and a view of the park outside the hotel. There was a desk&chair, a closet, a safe and good A/C, but no water bottle, no fridge and no sitting area. Wifi was easy to use and fast, however, I believe Youtube was banned, because all other websites worked fine but I was not able to access Youtube at all. That felt a bit strange. The queen bed, although too soft for my taste, was otherwise fine for one person although the pillow was flimsy and I had to request another one, which was gladly brought up to my room. There were sockets by the bed, so charging your devices overnight was easy. The bathroom was also clean and fresh and felt recently renovated. The walk-in shower came with excellent water pressure. There was enough room for toiletries etc by the sink, however the bath towel was extremely small. Amenities only included soap, shampoo and shower gel. No conditioner or body lotion. These came in wall-mounted containers, of which I am not a fan because I don’t find them particularly hygienic. I wish hotels saved money in other ways and not by abandoning single-use toiletries. The hotel serves breakfast in the ground floor breakfast room from 6:30 to 10:30, and from 7 to 12 on weekends. My rate did not include breakfast, but I popped in the first morning to see the spread. It was definitely not worth the price (20.50 EUR), so my suggestioon would be to buy something at the supermarket a block away or to have breakfast in a nearby café. I had a late flight out, and was informed that they could extend my check-out until 12:30 pm at no charge, and beyond that they offered a late check-out at 4 pm for 19 EUR. It was a bargain and I was happy to take up on the offer. The hotel is located two minutes from the main railway station, and I walked to all the sights and restaurants in the city centre area. The Markt and Dom (cathedral) is about a 15 min walk from the hotel. I found the location excellent and will be sure to stay here again if my travels take me to Mainz in the future.

It’s about 3 minutes away from Mainz Central Station. It’s easy to go to any attractions. The breakfast buffet is very rich. The bathroom does not have a door. It would be inconvenient if you have friends living with you. I’m here to watch the football game. It’s a very happy journey. Come Mainz will definitely stay again.

Location: Walking distance to train station Room cleanliness: Good. Blanket on bed had foul odor. Used the extra they had in the room. Towels can be replaced as they are thin, hard and old. Restaurant: Breakfast Ok - price debatable Dinner not much variety, long wait (+35 minutes for a cheeseburger and the restaurant was almost empty), service could be better. Just one server Room service: No If you are tight on budget this place works. If you are in town for business for +5 days might want to consider other options with variety of services and customer oriented.

We had googled our way to the fact that the Hilton Mainz has a very good location right down to the Rhine and you can purchase access to the hotel's ”Executive Lounge”. We booked 5 nights and we were ready for a little vacation by the Rhine. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were quickly and efficiently checked in by Mrs. Blanco Flores, who upgraded us to a room with a view of the Rhine. Mrs. Flores made us aware, that the ”Executive Lounge” was unfortunately not that big, but we had to see that with our ”own eyes”. Really good service was provided upon check-in, and our expectations for the stay at the hotel became greater. The room we had been allocated was on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the Rhine. We had booked a room with breakfast, so we were excited to see, how the breakfast buffet was. But we were very pleasantly surprised there 😊.. There was a reasonably large selection of various breads and hot items, so it was just a matter of getting started with breakfast. The hotel allows you to sit outside and enjoy your breakfast with a view of the Rhine, and watch the people walking and cycling past. We were very lucky with the weather, so breakfast was enjoyed for a little longer time than usual. After breakfast, we went up and see how the ”Executive Lounge” was. But unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed. The ”Executive Lounge” consists of 2 small rooms, where there were 3 tables in each room, and 3 people could sit at each table. When we got outside the time when alcoholic drinks are served, we could see that you could have a cup of coffee or an apollinaris. The snacks on display looked a bit boring, and the fruit wasn't of the best quality either. But cheer up, it could be good in the evening... But when we visited the ”Executive Lounge” in the evening, beer, wine and spirits were on display - but the snacks that were also on display didn't seem particularly inviting - so we didn't take any of them. Summary of our experience of the ”Executive Lounge” is that it is not necessary to purchase access to the ”Executive Lounge”. And we can only encourage hotel management to go on a study trip to Düsseldorf or Dresden, where we have experienced what an ”Executive Lounge” should really be like. In general, the level of service is very high, and the staff a super good service at the hotel 😊... Here we have to highlight in particular: Mrs. Flores from the reception, Heike from the breakfast restaurant and Brittany from Guest Relations. They gave us a really good service during our stay. In summary, we would give the hotel 4 stars out of 5. If the hotel should have had the last star, the ”Executive Lounge” must be upgraded with better rooms. (Could space be created for a small area down in the restaurant area, so that you also have the opportunity to sit outside on the warm summer evenings. We would like to come again at another time to enjoy the good location and super service 😊..

Located on the Rhine River, the morning is very quiet and the scenery is beautiful. The hotel is very quiet, the room feels and the area is spacious. The breakfast at the hotel is very good, but it is recommended to market in the nearby town centre.

The rooms are becoming more and more spartan: the air conditioning is gone (heating only), the coffee makers are gone, the refrigerators are gone ... only the breakfast remains at a high level. The attitude of the staff at the reception ranges from warmly welcoming to grossly indolent.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThis was the first hotel we stayed at, as part of a 7 month trip through Europe and Africa. Will admit - not the best idea, as this apartment is SO NICE, that you'll end up comparing all your future hotel rooms against it (and they'll probs come up short). Beautiful converted building, spacious rooms, everything feels recently renovated and clean. The owner was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to help us. Our room looked over the main square and fountain, and was extremely nice to fall asleep at night with the window opening listening to people walk past, eating at cafe and the fountain in the background. Only thing to note is that the beds seem a little small. We're used to a king at home, or queen when we travel. This may indeed be a queen, but it feels like a double. I fell off the bed (while sleeping) one night we stayed. Not fun as bed is quite high. Excellent stay in Mainz, and a great alternative to Frankfurt if they're having a convention (and the prices go sky-high). Old town here is small, but there's enough stuff to keep one busy for a few days.
GGuest UserThe room is clean and well-equipped. Drinks in the mini bar are free. The front desk and store staff have very good service. There was an unexpected surprise just before Christmas. Recommended to stay.
What was supposed to be a relaxing wellness weekend for my partner's birthday unfortunately turned into a complete disappointment. As we were enthusiastic about the Favorite Parkhotel during our last stay two years ago, this time we had very high expectations, which were unfortunately completely disappointed and we were quickly brought back down to earth. The superior room we had booked was unfortunately one of the very dusty, old-fashioned rooms on the 5th floor, in contrast to the last stay when we had been given a modern room. There was nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness, but it started with the fact that on the day of arrival our room was not ready for occupancy for a long time and the man at reception had obviously forgotten us, so we had to ask several times about the current status of the check-in option. The elevator was of course broken, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 5th floor. When the staff asked if we needed help, of course there was no response. The elevator was regularly broken from the day of arrival to the day of departure (Thursday-Sunday)... The energy cost is another of those additional fees that are beyond comprehension. It would be a more honest decision for the hotel to adjust the overnight prices accordingly. The wellness area on the roof is still completely undersized for a hotel of this size, and the whirlpool was out of service for two days. The hotel's newly designed spa area on the ground floor is visually very appealing, but there are too few places to lie down for the size of the hotel. The design here was more about appearance than practicality, because the large number of guests gave the whole place the atmosphere of a train station, with no trace of relaxation. It would have been sensible to separate the rest areas, but as it is, you are in the middle of through traffic... unfortunately a total failure. When I was asked by a receptionist on the day of departure whether I had enjoyed my stay and answered ”Unfortunately not”, his reaction was a simple ”Oh, that's a shame, I'm sorry”. It would have been more appropriate to simply ask why I was dissatisfied, because how can a hotel improve if it doesn't ask about criticism? But the motto here is: it doesn't matter, the customer has left, so I don't care why the customer didn't like it. At just under 800.- for three nights and a visit to the hotel's own restaurant, this was a very disappointing experience. I had communicated with the hotel well in advance that it was supposed to be a birthday surprise for my partner, but they said: of course not. It was clear to us that this hotel was finished for us, there are better places.
GGuest UserExcellent stuff and good breakfast the room is clean and comfortable just I half one comment regarding the TV channels there is no English Channel I hope if the hotel management they manage to add English channels nearby that is a Turkish supermarket and also another big supermarket 2 restaurants very close to the hotel approximately 10 m away Italian and German restaurant Bus station is approximately 200 m away to the city center and main train station
Unfortunately, we were not the only ones who wanted to visit Mainz that weekend. It was packed and the hotels were well chosen. The location to the city center is good, especially as you can get to the promenade quickly. Unfortunately, our room was near the elevator and the two streets, where the traffic was clearly audible despite the windows being closed. The rooms have been renovated, the bathrooms are new, bright and clean. The shower is large, unfortunately with a shower curtain (not so dirty yet). Small TV, but sufficient due to the distance from the bed. Beds are rather hard but still comfortable. All in all, clean. The service was OK. Parking is possible in the nearby public parking garage and costs 10 euros per day.
GGuest UserWe stayed in this hotel for a weekend. Our family room was ok: surprisingly spacious, quite comfortable beds. But it smells muffy (also wasn't getting out with airports). Despite closed window, you can hear the traffic noise from the Landstraße and the motorway that pass directly by the hotel. The bathroom was in a limited condition: extremely renewable, flat washing basin, flat shower, toilet, which would have to be replaced and very unpleasant smell. Also breakfast was extremely easy, the tables in the breakfast room were smooth and with EUR 13 per person the breakfast is definitely overpaid. We were now 2x in this hotel, but this time was definitely the last time!
This is a nice hotel Within a very short walk from the train station. We stayed for two nights and it offered a clean, comfortable room, adequate for recovery from a long trip abroad before continuing our final journey home. It is also an easy walk to Mainz old town. The staff was kind and considerate when we arrived at the hotel prior to the normal check in time, by allowing us to get to our room early. The only drawback is that there were no quiet sitting areas for reading & relaxing. There is a cafe next to the reception area, but we did not eat there. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay and with easy reach of the train system.
