Three years ago my husband and I discovered this wonderful little Mahe Gem! It's only a few minutes drive from the airport and yet it's blissfully quiet. Thank you Linda for being the perfect hostess to two weary elderly South Africans aged 95 and 80, whose departure day in Cape Town commenced at 4am! After two flights, a wait in Johannesburg, a late arrival and a 10pm exit from Mahe airport, what a joy it was to find your delicious late night snack, tea and coffee, a spotless room, a lovely hot shower and a most comfortable bed just waiting for us to crash! There was Lea, your delightful Filipino helper staying up late to welcome us back so warmly. Hotel La Roussette is fast becoming like a second home to us after 3 perfect stays.Thank you Lin for arranging for your faithful and punctual taxi driver, Anthony to meet us again. It is always such a comfort seeing his friendly face in the Arrivals hall. He has become such a cheerful welcoming new friend to us that he no longer needs to wave his Welcome placard in our direction! He happily shouldered all our luggage and allowed us time to withdraw Seychelles rupees at an airport ATM. After a wonderfully refreshing sleep and a relaxing start to Monday morning, we enjoyed a delicious full English breakfast served by your two charming helpers from the Philippines before being transported by Anthony back to the airport for our 20 minute flight to Praslin in the little Twin Otter de Havilland just after lunch. We highly recommend this charming little Haven for all late night arrivals who need to recharge their batteries before embarking on the Seychelles holiday of a life time. Hotel La Roussette is a real Winner!

This hotel was an exquisite find about 10 years ago near the airport. It is impeccably clean, comfortable and was always our final relaxing location before flying out of the Seychelles. It's inexpensive and is value-added for the rates charged. The rooms are spacious with wonderful showers that is just what is needed after arriving from the islands before the departure flight. New staff member at reception, Mr Rajesh from India was incredible. His attentive service, welcome, and action responses were much appreciated. It is suffice to express a degree of sadness after about 10 years of memories as the stopover before flying out. New management has excluded a day rate that is understandable as it's their prerogative to determine the schedule of stays and charges. It does not make economic sense to pay for 2 nights, that is the night before and next day in order to secure a day room. Furthermore, a revised itinerary with a few days on the island of Mahe at other hotels is the way forward as farewell with appreciation is expressed.

Under previous management, there was a "day rate" that was useful so that a person never spent the night. Arrival was late morning from the inter-island ferry, and departure to the airport was around 5 pm. Our latest experience with new management resulted in payment for 2 nights, that is the night before, and a second night due to the 5 pm check out. Knowing this hotel for about 10 years, we accepted it as we were not about to go hotel hunting for the last night! However, it also represented our last stay as we will change the itinerary in the future, and spend two final days elsewhere on the main island of Mahe before flying out that makes it part of the reasonable plan. Somewhat surprising for the post Covid-19 period in the hospitality sector that taught flexibility and adaptability. New staff member at reception, Mr Rajesh from India was incredible. His attentive service, welcome, and action responses made the two nights of double charging somewhat palatable!

It was a pleasant stay but I was very traumatised by two huge tortoises that was being kept is a small sand pit with no vegetation and they looked nearly dead. They are such beautiful animals in the wild or in a big garden where they can live a happy life. This was just plain anx simple cruel! I would be prepared to pay for them to be set free on the tortoise island. Thank you

Paradise! This is an amazing property offering individual bungalows. We were warmly greeted with cold towels and fruit juice before they ever checked us in officially. True Island ambience! A full service property offering restaurant and bar, pool, room service on your private patio overlooking the pool. Fully individualized air conditioning, mini fridge, coffee service, room safe. Exceptional staff! They could not have been more pleasant and service oriented. If you are flying into Mahe pre or post cruise, this is the place to stay! 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes to cruise terminal. They also have apartments for longer stays. I give this a 5-Star rating!

Last year my 93 year old husband and I were delighted by the charm we discovered at La Roussette. We enjoyed wonderful advance communication with the Management and were assured that a reliable driver called Anthony would meet us.We knew we would be weary having flown at 7am, all the way from Cape Town to Mahe with a delay in Jo'burg. What joy to see the smiling face of Anthony, as he waved a Welcome sign bearing our surname. We could not have had a warmer reception and a more comfortable overnight stay. La Roussette is a short drive from the airport and proved to be a wonderful haven of rest and tranquility after a late arrival. Our room and bathroom was spotless and we had a most comfortable double bed and mattress. We vowed that we would return to La Roussette should we ever be booked on another late night Air Seychelles flight. Linda, the G.M's wife, was a fantastic correspondent and a warm and caring hostess. What a joy to be met at Mahe Airport once more by Anthony, their most amiable and skilful driver who handled our luggage for us, always a concern for elderly travellers Once more, our late night check in by friendly Lea, was quick and efficient. Since last year's visit, La Roussette has been tastefully refurbished and our beautiful double room was in pristine condition. The shower was most efficient and with soap and fresh towels provided, we were spared having to delve into our luggage.Imagine our gratitude when delicious hot snacks and a pot of tea was delivered to our room although it was close to 11pm.Linda's two charming young staff members, Lea and Marissa, served us with such courtesy and warmth at breakfast time where a scrumptious cooked English breakfast set us up for our journey to Praslin. Two well-rested, elderly travellers went on their way very happily with one having been blessed with a birthday gift from her generous hostess! A heartfelt thank you to the hospitable La Roussette Team for a most memorable stay. We shall recommend your little hotel wholeheartedly to future travellers.

We arrived after 21:00 for an overnight stay. Even though the kitchen were "technically" closed, they fixed us some fish and chips for a late-night dinner. The service was friendly and welcoming, but the rooms are cold and impersonal. Breakfast was adequate. Our transfer to our final destination on the island arrived much later, but we were welcome to hang out by the pool and enjoy some drinks after the official check-out time. I wouldn't make La Rousette my final destination on the island, but for our purposes, it was absolutely fine.

The Management people made our stay so very unpleasant, they tagged us branded us as thieves for some missing cutlery, rather they cud have politely requested to replace with new one or charged for instead. they directly blamed and named our whole family as thieves, we paid over 2000 eur for our stay and for 2 eur item missing the management lady was so rude and started abusing with bad words and harsh words. horrible immoral people. Never ever will stay or recommend anyone to stay here

My husband and I are two old folk who had travelled all the way from Cape Town. We were devastated to hear that Air Seychelles from Jo'burg now lands on Mahe at 2am and that the little Twin Otter plane to Praslin only leaves at 7am! With the airport lounge closed at 10pm where could we find an airport chair comfortable enough for a 93 yr old to nap for 5 hours. The problem was solved when my Tripadviser search led me to Ronald, the GM at La Roussette. He communicated so well, dispelled all our fears, booked a comfortable, spotless room for us and arranged for a most obliging taxi driver to transport us and our luggage to and from the airport. This short stay and excellent little sleep made the world of difference to our peace of mind upon departure and to our well being upon arrival.A huge thank you to Ronald and his cheerful receptionist and Anthony, the kind taxi driver who had a disturbed sleep on our behalf. We loved our room and very comfy bed and would have appreciated a longer stay.
