DoubleTree by Hilton Madrid-Prado

Our first stop in Spain, we originally planned to use Madrid as a transit point and didn't have high expectations. However, this hotel completely exceeded them with its fantastic location, excellent accommodations, and wonderful staff, making our trip to Madrid truly enjoyable. The hotel's location feels a bit like being on Chang'an Avenue; directly across the street is the Congress building, and the entire street is very grand. The room had amazing natural light, felt very airy and spacious, and was well laid out. The neighborhood is bustling with various shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and polite. We don't speak Spanish and were initially worried about communication, but it turned out to be no problem at all. The staff happily chatted with us in English and were very quick and efficient at resolving any issues. The breakfast was delicious too!

The hotel's decor is stylish, and the reading light design is excellent, making it convenient without disturbing my partner. It would be even better if the room were a bit larger. There were no prices listed in the mini-bar, so I didn't dare to eat anything from it.

The hotel is located in the city center, very close to the train station, making it convenient to reach attractions like the Prado Museum and Retiro Park. We were a group of four, and Bolt taxis were readily available. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and breakfast.

The room was quite small, and the bathroom was tiny too. Since I arrived on an early flight, I tried to check in at 10 AM but was told it would cost an extra 100 Euros, which felt a bit outrageous, especially since they said the 'upgraded' room was still very small. Maybe the front desk staff judge people differently. However, the breakfast was quite rich, with crispy fried dough sticks and butterfly pastries. It's close to the main attractions and feels safe.

Overall, it was a satisfactory stay due to the good cleanliness and friendly staff service. However, the soundproofing in the rooms was not as good as expected, and the room size was much smaller than anticipated, which was a bit disappointing. Although there was a window, it was awkward to open. Additionally, I added breakfast, but upon checkout, I was charged for items I hadn't used. Always double-check your receipt before paying. I'm not sure about off-peak season, but based on the peak season rates, I felt the value for money was somewhat lacking. I wondered if this was really a Hilton; just something to keep in mind.

One of the few great hotels in Europe. The facilities are very new, the service is excellent, and the Japanese restaurant on the first floor is delicious. The hotel is quite new, and the soundproofing is also good. The location is superb, within walking distance to everything. It's definitely a good choice for future trips to Madrid.

The hotel's location is excellent. You can take a direct bus from the airport, and it's very close to major attractions. Plus, there's a Chinese supermarket right across the street.

Excellent! The room was very well-maintained, definitely didn't feel as old as the hotel has been open. Highly recommend staying here!

Everything else was fine, but the breakfast was quite disappointing. The variety was really poor, with only bread and cereal available.
