I give an excellent because I was impressed, though there were some minor things needing attention. Have been here several times and multiple nights, so this means a lot when returning to a hotel. Greeted friendly and efficiently. Rooms clean and set up nicely. Cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful, also flexible for my mid-day return to the room. There were a few issues but taken care of immediately by the desk, so not worth mentioning. Just be assured they are there for the customer. Pet friendly and large area to walk the dog, an area sometimes missing at other hotels. (Some suggestions: Directions and signs need improvement, as GPS address does not reflect the entrance. And they told me they are working on getting breakfast, so I won't be surprised if that is there soon.) I look at reviews for hotels and look at latest reviews, which show current conditions and opinions. They are under newer management and this is clearly reflected in the rooms and service. Keep it up, Red Roof Inn!

I have nothing but the highest praise for the Virginian Hotel and its staff. I also want to thank the owner and whoever else was involved for having the vision and courage to restore this beautiful old building and for taking a chance on downtown Lynchburg. Everything about this hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. The room was nice and quiet with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the shower. The hotel was immaculately clean throughout. I got excellent service and benefits with my Hilton Diamond status. I wholeheartedly recommend the Skyline and William & Henry restaurants. Both are apparently owned by the same person and the food and service were top notch. We had delicious and memorable meals at both restaurants. What really set the Virginian apart from me was the impeccable service I received from every single employee I encountered, both in the hotel and the restaurants. Everyone was unfailingly polite and helpful. I unfortunately didn't write down the names of all of the employees, but I want to especially compliment the father/son bellman team of Jonathan and Colin, bellman Connor, and front desk staff Memory and Daniel. I have to especially mention Colin, who impressively went straight from his bellman shift during the day to help wait on our table at William & Henry at night and then was right back at his bellman post very early the next morning. I encourage you to stay at the Virginian the next time you visit Lynchburg and urge you to eat at both restaurants. I will definitely stay at the Virginian in the future and want to again thank everyone for a perfect weekend.

The location is good, safe and quiet, the pillows are soft and comfortable and very comfortable. Just the air conditioner is a little bit louder. The hotel is a 6-7 minute drive from the famous local restaurant Market at main and a 5 minute drive from the center of the town. In the evening, the hotel, because of anxious to go out for dinner, dropped the phone on the table in the check-in room water bar. The Crystal in charge of Check in is very responsible for helping us close it, waiting for us to come back and tell us that she has been trying to contact us. Thank you Ctystal.

Beautifully designed and decorated--both our room and the common areas. Doesn't look institutional. Property is a block away from the main highway which makes it easily accessible, but also quiet. Front desk clerks were very friendly, helpful and kind. Our room thermostat went a bit rogue; it was difficult to control. However, everything else about our room was very comfortable and we slept well. Only disappointment--physical fitness room was closed (presumably due to COVID) and the ”Bistro” bar/snack/lounge area was also closed (front desk clerk said due to ”not enough business”). I do understand that the management has to make decisions which will enable the hotel to be profitable. I don't fault them for that. Nonetheless, those decisions resulted in our inability to fully enjoy this lovely place. Hopefully, others who stay here in the future will get a more complete experience. One last caveat--this property has no swimming pool or jacuzzi, if that matters to you.

The location is good, safe and quiet, the pillows are soft and comfortable and very comfortable. Just the air conditioner is a little bit louder. The hotel is a 6-7 minute drive from the famous local restaurant Market at main and a 5 minute drive from the center of the town. In the evening, the hotel, because of anxious to go out for dinner, dropped the phone on the table in the check-in room water bar. The Crystal in charge of Check in is very responsible for helping us close it, waiting for us to come back and tell us that she has been trying to contact us. Thank you Ctystal.

I give an excellent because I was impressed, though there were some minor things needing attention. Have been here several times and multiple nights, so this means a lot when returning to a hotel. Greeted friendly and efficiently. Rooms clean and set up nicely. Cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful, also flexible for my mid-day return to the room. There were a few issues but taken care of immediately by the desk, so not worth mentioning. Just be assured they are there for the customer. Pet friendly and large area to walk the dog, an area sometimes missing at other hotels. (Some suggestions: Directions and signs need improvement, as GPS address does not reflect the entrance. And they told me they are working on getting breakfast, so I won't be surprised if that is there soon.) I look at reviews for hotels and look at latest reviews, which show current conditions and opinions. They are under newer management and this is clearly reflected in the rooms and service. Keep it up, Red Roof Inn!
