Stay away. I called multiple times with no answer and when I finally arrvied, the front door was locked with no one in sight to help. After waiting for ages, I ended up having to go elsewhere. Totally unprofessional and unhelpful. Definitely not staying here again.

The location is decent, close to some attractions but that's about the only positive. The rooms were cold and not well-maintained with dust and garbage left in the corners. The atmosphere was also pretty unwelcoming and the noise isolation was awful, you could hear just about everything going on in the hallways. Definitely not worth the price and way overpriced for what you get. There’s no front desk service and they never answer calls which makes the whole experience frustrating. Overall, it’s just not a place I would recommend.

Honestly my stay here was pretty disappointing. The rooms and common areas were messy and always noisy. On top of that, there is no front desk or any real customer service and when calling a few times, no one ever picked up. I also left a negative review about these same issues and it got removed which feels like the hostel trying to cover up bad feedback instead of fixing the problems. With the mess, noise and lack of communication, I wouldn't recommend staying here at all.

My three nights at Winstrup Hostel was perfect. I opted for my own room, which was very compact but okay. If there were two of you (bunks), then it would be a little cramped if you had a lot of luggage. However, it worked very well and I slept well. The food storage arrangements in the kitchen were very good, and the kitchen was very well-equipped. Lots of tables where you could sit to have your meal. Just five minutes walk from the railways station, five minutes in the other direction took you to the Cathedral, one of the best in the Nordic countries. An enormous ICA store, just a couple of minutes walk away, open from 6 AM to 11 PM, ensured easy access to all the food provisions you could wish for. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and wine bars very close by too. The only criticism I have is that the keypad on the door to the corridor with the bedrooms, looked nothing like a keypad. Several guests, including me, had to phone for instructions. I provide a photograph, it would be better if the hostel provided a photo, so people could understand that the small buttons are actually a key pad.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin. My experience at this hostel was an absolute nightmare, mostly because of the complete lack of customer service and the fact that there was no front desk to even speak to anyone. When I arrived, I stood in front of what was supposed to be the "reception" area for a solid 20 minutes, hoping someone would answer the phone. No one did. I had to find my own way around the hostel, figuring out where the rooms were, where to store my bags, and even how to access the wifi. Just by asking random guests. Throughout my stay, there was no one to talk to about anything. No front desk staff, no manager, no one. If there was an issue with the room or anything else, I had to either solve it myself or wait for someone who maybe would be around eventually. I tried calling the number listed, but it just kept ringing. It felt like the hostel was completely abandoned and guests were expected to just figure things out on their own. Not the kind of experience you expect when you're paying for a place to stay.

A really disappointing experience. The shared dorms were unclean with common area that hadn’t been cleaned properly. It's noisy throughout the night making it hard to get any sleep. To make matters worse the hostel never answered the phone and had no staff at the building. I would not recomend staying here.
