Hotels near Stadtpark in Ludwigshafen am Rhein

We travelled to Ludwigshafen for business and looked for hotels near to the work premises, unfortunately the 'Excelsior Hotel' was first in the list. At only 90 euros a night (including breakfast) it is no doubt a 'budget' option, but it isn't budget in the respect of a Travelodge or Premier Inn, instead it's a lost hotel in a pretty unpleasant area which has been left to decay. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, graffiti-covered walls surround the hotel, and the first impression of the hotel visually is not a positive one, it's hard to even find the way in, amongst scaffolding and concrete jungle. At night, it's a fairly unsafe-feeling area, with people 'hangin around' looking suspicious. The one positive aspect upon booking was the 'Skybar', however digging deeper into reviews, it's clear that it's been closed long before the 'pandemic', infact 4 years ago, and upon arrival we were informed that it's still closed with no future planned. There is no restaurant onsite, nor bar besides a mini-fridge sat on the reception desk with a few bottles of beer available. Upon check-in, I was also asked for my 'date of birth' and home address, which often feels irrelevant, I refused to give such details. Once in the room, via the lift which takes about 5 minutes to arrive and to move, there's no air conditioning which during 32c weather was painful, but fortunately there was a fan. The room size isn't bad at all and the bed was comfortable, but the presentation of the room, as a new guest, wasn't considerate. A pile of electrical extension and cables was next to my bed, not tucked away out of sight. The internet connection was virtually useless in the afternoon/evenings after guests start to utilise it, I resorted to using mobile data instead. There are balconies, but they're just concrete and far from cosy, although the view over the city isn't at all bad. There is no furniture and in addition from a security aspect someone could easily go from their balcony to yours, therefore always be sure to lock and chain the balcony door when not in the room, or at night. At night, you can hear noise from neighbouring rooms, above, below and to the sides, I am also fairly sure that I had 3 'bed-bug' bites from my two night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was included in my 90 euro rate and the breakfast restaurant isn't bad, the service is friendly but the choice is limited, a few cold options and minimal hot options, no bacon or sausages unfortunately. It was a little off-putting to see mouse-traps being laid around the restaurant while I was sat trying to enjoy my meal. While away from the hotel, I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, despite this upon return later that afternoon the cleaner had been into the room and cleaned, this is not acceptable when the message is clearly made that the room should not be disturbed. The concept of the common area at the ground floor is very nice. Depending on the place you choose, they were able to create a different feeling going from cosy home sofa feeling to pub feeling to join with friends place. We liked it very much.

Das Hotel kann mit Qualitäten glänzen wie kein Anderes. Zumal darf man bei einer Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine Stehlampe funktioniert, von 50 Prozent ausgehen. Des Weiteren wiesen die Handtücher nicht nur Flecken und Löcher, sondern auch einen köstlichen Duft von Arsch auf. Neben der architektonischen Missgestaltung des Hauses, besaß mein Bad eine stilistisch, klug, falsch eingesetzte Fliese. Ebenfalls traf ich, in diesem 10.000 cm^2 Bad, auf zwei weitere wunderschöne Überraschungen. Zum Einen durfte ich eine nutzlose, herausgeschraubte Armatur begutachten, zum Anderen traf ich in der Dusche auf vereinzelte entzückende Schimmelkolonien, welche mir ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zauberten. Als ich mein Zimmer betrat war ich erleichtert, dass ich nicht der Einzige mit einem Schaden bin, sondern auch die Wand meines Zimmers erquickte mich mit einem vorzüglichen Wasserschaden. Zugute kam dem Hotel einen, an meine Stube angeschlossenen Balkon, welcher mir einen Ausblick des Grauens bescherte. Denn der Innenhof, auf den ich blicken durfte, war von einer durchgehenden Grundbeschissenheit ausgestattet. Aber nicht nur negative Aspekte beschatten das Hotel, sondern auch ein einziger guter, nämlich das Personal. Dieses wies eine überdurchschnittliche Freundlichkeit auf, welche wahrscheinlich auf einer regelmäßigen Drogeneinnahme basiert. Durch die liebevollen Worte „ Danke Bruderherz“ des Personals und der wahrscheinlichen Drogenabhängigkeit, schließe ich auf einen Wohnsitz nahe des Frankfurter Hauptbahnhofs. So kann ich dieses Hotel nur jedem empfehlen, zumindest jedem der von seinen niedrigen Erwartungen enttäuscht werden möchte. Vielen Dank Best Western!

This hotel is modern and staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate- I had a Queen star room. Rooms are just slightly cold but comfortable non the less. The bar was well shocked and service very good. Breakfast was great- so much choice. Perfect location for shops, restaurants and lovely Christmas markets. I'd stay here again.

As always, it was a pleasant holiday. The service is friendly and polite. forever happy. I only made a reservation on the day of arrival, so the system has not made a reservation yet, and some guests are at the reception desk. The waiting time is sweetened by drink coupons.

With positive expectations, I have been in this hotel for a meeting for 2 nights; the result is very disgusting. I would like to stress that the staff was exceptionally very pleasant and effort. The room was huge, with old furniture completed and mostly functional. It is definitely a clear renovation bust that affects quite everything. Some are simply defect (toilet paper holders fall down constantly, clothes hangers are broken, outdoor jail defect etc.) and most are completely outdated. Clean was it. It was unshameless that with the reason that the weather was too unstained the air conditioning was not centrally activated. The weather was very constant and from day to day in the direction of 30 degrees warmer. With air conditioning is advertised - here ergo a clear label fraud and a cheating on the guest who also paid for it. My colleagues in other rooms went as well. Therefore, we have a shortage and no recommendation !

I felt well to come back. Very good Corona concept. Lunch package for breakfast and dinner in the room I find good and priced ok. Parking before the door free I find super. Only the kiss was too hard, but is sad at high level.

First of all during this critical moments in the world due to the COVID 19 safety it’s out of great importance! This hotel has it, all personal where wearing masks and everyone is responsible. Very professional and friendly hotel personnel, I had a shower head problem and Hotel tech arrived in a min, replace it in the blink of an eye. I felt welcome safe and take good care of. With this review I would like to thank all the hotel stuff for doing such a great job and hope to see you again on my next booking.

Friends from Australia spent a night in this hotel and we decided to meet with a total of eight people to dinner there. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern and sympathetic therefore. The outdoor area was not useful as it is being reconstructed. The generous parking garage was quite empty –, which may be at the not just low parking costs. The hotel shows how difficult to open the doors are – it is well and a lot of heavy fire protection doors. Although we spent a nice evening with our friends in a nice round, the restaurant did not work too much. The food for us eight came over two (!) hours distributed – to a common food was not to think. Also, not everyone got the ordered or expected food. Drink orders were also difficult and took very long. Evidently the friendly staff was overloaded – It was probably too little in the restaurant and kitchen. However, I see the reception well and doublely occupied. Since my food was not in line with my expectations, I can't say much about quality. However, guests who had more luck than I had praised their dishes. Overall, the evening was – at least, with regard to the restaurant – a particularly disappointing experience.

On a trip to Czech Republic from France we stayed at this hotel on both legs. Going to Czech we were impressed with the room and our only niggle was the fact that we had to go to the bar to order a meal in the restaurant on the opposite side of the floor. We were informed that this was because of the fact that they were catering for conferences!! Apart from that our room on the second floor was lovely. Fast forward 6 days and a different picture! Room 126 was allocated to us but when I wanted to contact Reception I found that the telephone didn’t work. Then when I went into the bathroom to find that there was an unrecognisable sticky substance on the door handle. I then learnt that a hotel such as this didn’t have its restaurant open on a Sunday night!! What is going on?? Not impressed with Paula, the receptionist, who, although was prompt to rectify the room faults by immediately moving us to another one, certainly wasn’t too impressed with her guests, judging by her voice!! Certainly not a warm welcome!!
