Hotels near Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles

The beds are smaller than expected but overall I am satisfied with the hotel. The staffs are friendly and we checked in really fast. The hotel is near Little Tokyo and some bus stations. Will book again in the future!!

Amazing stay. We’ve stayed a handful of times at the Waldorf Beverly Hills which we also love, but I think this will be our new go-to Hilton property in Los Angeles as it’s at a much more attractive price point. The service was what really stood out. Extremely friendly front desk, bellmen, drivers, and wait staff. We were celebrating our anniversary and they upgraded us to a beautiful suite and provided treats and champagne. Pool was beautiful and huge considering the area. Food was delicious, albeit extremely expensive which is our only criticism of the property. We are excited to come back.

The one incident that nearly ruined my stay at CitizenM was the aggressive sprinkler inspection. I was not notified by email, phone, nor physical note about an inspection. At 9:15am, I was awoken by banging on my guest room door. I went to the door to see two men continuing to bang on the door, saying that they needed immediate access to check on equipment. Everything I've been taught about hotel safety was to NOT open the door to unidentified men. I told them everything in the room was fine and that I would be checking out within the hour. They continued to insist that I immediately open the door, which started to frighten me. I told them I was going to call the front desk to check if they were sent by the hotel. I was surprised that one of the men responded in an angry manner saying, ”FINE, GO AHEAD AND CALL THE FRONT DESK!” The woman at the front desk apologized, said that she too had just found out about the inspection, and said that the men were indeed authorized to inspect the sprinklers. I opened the door and they did a quick inspection. I did not appreciate the aggressive, unprofessional manner in which they demanded entry into my room. Other than that, the rest of my experience was excellent!

The hotel was nice and clean but the hotel parking lot was full so we had to park at another place which was quiet inconvenient.

When I first arrived I was telling the guy at the desk that I had two reservations I cancelled one, but there should be another that I have already prepaid. Well he pretty much was saying he don’t see a paid room as I have the confirmation receipt on my phone in my hand. the lady (his co worker) reviewed my receipt for the room purchase and searched by my middle name. They found my reservation… okay, they were out of one beds. So we walk to our room and it’s literally a jail no city view, just a view of other hotel windows and a vent on the second floor. I mean that’s ridiculous for the price so make sure y’all checking the view before paying all that money! Remind you the guy already pushed back on me regarding my prepayment so was he being rude? I think so honestly. So I Go back to the desk to get another room with a better view because at this point I was disgusted, new room still have 2 beds but it was on 8th floor with a good view so I was okay with it, better than the first room. Going off of reviews and pictures I thought this hotel would be nice but it’s really old looking I made the best out of it but I would never book here again sorry not sorry.

It's close to Little Tokyo, so you don't have to worry about eating. The room was clean. Amenities were also available. Conveniently located near Union Station. When I slept until about 10:00 in the morning, I was awakened by the sound of a drill, probably because the upper floor was under construction.

The front desk service of the hotel is good, but the hygiene condition is not very good. The bed sheets were not changed even after staying for 5 consecutive nights. When booking the hotel, the destination tax was clearly included, but when checking out, I was still charged 30 US dollars per night. Ctrip customer service promptly refunded me (according to the real-time exchange rate) Parking costs 60 US dollars a night. We parked in the parking lot behind the hotel. If you park before 12 pm until the next morning, you need to pay 40 US dollars. You can choose to park after 12 pm until the next morning. Then The price is $20. I have to say that parking in downtown is really expensive. The security around downtown is not very good either.

Could easily be zero stars. Original room was 93 degrees upon check in, the air conditioning unit was poor by anyone's standard, we asked to switch rooms. They did not offer to come get our bags, or move us to a new room so we brought our luggage back down to the front desk. We were then given a second room. Again, no offer made to accompany us and see if the new room was up to standards. This room was 92 degrees upon entry. After a second phone call, they sent up staff to change the filters on the AC unit. That team told us the AC was functioning well and blowing cold air (it was blowing cold air as if you had a few ice cubes in your mouth and blew on my neck) and to use the blackout curtains (after a sort of condescending explanation of what blackout curtains do) and give it some time for the AC to work. We went out to dinner for about two hours and came back to a nice cool 87 degree room. We once again took our belongings back downstairs. We were then told by the front desk staff that since we booked a room with a king size bed all of those rooms faced the sun and would all have similar problems (why would that be an acceptable answer?) and they could do nothing more for us since they accommodated us once already. I had no idea their idea of accommodating someone was to put them in a room with the same problem that the previous room had but what do I know, I am not in the hospitality industry. We were then told that the hotel was completely booked so no further ”accommodations” could be made. We asked for a refund and this is the first time they reacted with some conviction, they were happy to let us leave. Must be nice to be able to turn away business. At no time were there any apologies, any remorse, just matter-of-factly let us leave. My wife and I don't argue or yell, we never feel its worth it, but we left angry and hotel-less on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. We scrambled to find a new hotel but the damage was done, they took our entire Saturday away from us, which no refund could ever compensate for, they temporarily took our joy to be in town on our own as we are parents and do not get much time away. We did take our business elsewhere, to a Hilton, they seem to understand that to relax you need a room that is slightly cooler than a sauna. We were able to salvage the remaining days of our trip. Also the elevators at the Freehand are old (charming?) and constantly in use because of the rooftop bar so it took us waiting for a few packed elevators to get up and down to the hot AF rooms which probably added to our level of frustration. But it was mostly the Sahara like environment of the hot room. Did I mention the rooms were hot? Also maybe use a free hand to open a book on what hospitality looks like, I think your staff may be surprised. (see what I did there?)

It was a Great Hotel, the location is great, very well connected to subway, lots of restaurant and fast-food around. The rooms and the facility is great, especially the 7th floor pool deck the staff there are very friendly, room is very comfortable and spacious, clean, have all amenities I needed, including the slippers which I used for the pool side. Some of the receptionist are very friendly, courteous especially the girl who extended my checkout time and the gentlemen Manny they made me feel home, also the concierge gentleman, I am from Asia and you definitely need people like them to make you comfortable. on the other had there were some receptionist who don't even want to smile, a smile cost nothing, it is because of these couple of them that the hotel might not get the guest back. Over all I will for sure come back again and there is no need for me to stay in other places, i use to stay in sheraton grand, but now I recommend this hotel and also myself will stay here again for sure. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Sylvia. She went above and beyond with assisting me with an early check-in. I’ve traveled to many places and not one took the time to take my number and offered to contact me when a room becomes available! But Sylvia did and I will never forget that!! So helpful and kind over the phone. I was able to check-in with her at the hotel and she was quick and remembered me from our phone conversations of an early check-in. She was great! Thank you Sylvia for your amazing customer service ethics and genuine kindness! It’s people like her that really are the face of the company. I will be back for sure!! I also would like to send a great appreciation and gratitude to the valet! I’m wasn’t able to catch his name but if I could describe him, he was a Mexican man, shorter and was quick as a ninja getting our car to us and the kindest ever! He was amazing and always had a smile on his face even though the weekend we stayed was Pride Week and the hotel was extremely busy! He definitely deserves some recognition as well.
