Our overall stay here was pretty mediocre, with one particularly negative experience - smelly sheets on the bed! We stayed one night, arriving around 4pm on a Saturday and departing at noon the next day. The staff member at check in lacked manners. She did not greet us warmly and she was very curt, asking “do you have ID?” without saying please or welcoming us first. When we discovered our sheets were smelly and asked if new ones could be sent, the staff member’s response was “yeah.” She did not acknowledge how outrageous it was for our sheets to smell or apologize for this unacceptable issue. She had clean sheets sent up right away, but no pillow cases or fitted sheets were sent. The next day, when I called to ask for a late check out as a Titantium Elite, they were not able to accommodate my request at all. I would have expected at least a 1pm late check out would have been offered as a sign of goodwill. To his credit, the staff member I spoke with on Sunday morning was very polite, professional, and courteous, and apologized for not being able to accommodate our request. In terms of the positives - the pool and hot tub were pleasant, and the breakfast buffet was decent. The staff member at breakfast was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean (aside from the bed sheet issue).

This was my second time staying at this hotel for business. My first experience was just ok. But this second time was horrible from start to finish. First off... its old. Just doesnt feel clean and honestly doesn't look it either. Front desk put me on the 1st floor next to the door going to the streets... I wouldve stayed but the tv didnt work!! I went to the front desk to get another room... preferably not on the 1st floor... I was denied. The second room was just as old and dirty looking with stains on the sofa and ottoman. I tried to take a shower but the hot/cold lever broke off. Crazy. Then I tried to store my food in he mini-fridge... But theres a button that you press that only allows the power to be on for 2 hours!?!?!? How cheap do you have to be to install that??? Side note... the room rate was $150. They held $400 on my credit card!! Im a Gold Bonvoy member and return customer.... so ***? On the same business trip I stayed at other (Better) Marriott properties that only held $180... maybe $200. That credit card hold and putting me on the garbage 1st floor felt Racial!! But ofcourse there is no proof!! Just terrible customer service!! Ill never stay at another Courtyard. Period. But Dont say I didnt warn you about the palo alto/los altos location. Ive stayed at Motel 6's that were cleaner and more comfortable!! And theyre Racists!!
