For me who is used to Chinese food, it takes time to get used to coming here. The beautiful sea view made me choose to spend 3 days here. There are many sea view restaurants around: Japanese food, American food! Whether you are on vacation or working in another place, this is really a good place! Catering is high-end consumption, about 4-5 times the domestic price.

The front desk service is really good, the language communication is not good, there is something wrong with the bank card when checking in on the platform, and the young man is very patient and greatly praised

There are two family hotels in Long Beach. This one is close to the airport, and there are also homes by the sea. I have stayed at two hotels this time. This is my second home, it feels better than the one by the sea, because the price is cheaper. The room was neat and clean, and the utensils for cooking were very complete. I was particularly surprised that the floor in the bathroom was warm. Could it be that old hotels would also have floor heating? !! Ha ha breakfast for 9:30, there is nothing left, the waiter can't wait to pack home. Go early if you have breakfast.

I love this hotel. It's pricy but you get free parking and it's by all the shops and the airport. Laundry on site. Very clean. Very nice staff. Bar, lounge. Nice beds. Cool place.

After brief attempt to put deposit on our room, a woman at check-in counter said “since we’re not vibing, I’m going to cancel your reservation.” I’m not kidding. They have one portable card reader and it wasn’t taking my card. Called the card company, they told me it’s fine. I waited outside 1 hour to check in with an elderly parent who they wouldn’t bring a chair for, she and I both had to stand and get lectured—The lady listed all the countries she’s visited (literally started and wouldn’t stop listing countries), her point being that deposits are important everywhere you go. All this with chase on the phone telling them my card was fine and ready for them to run, that their card machine wasn’t pushing the transaction to chase. The hotel staff insisted that it wasn’t their machine because someone else was able to check in with a card deposit. The lady had no problem rolling her eyes, talking down to us, and the only time she was respected was when my card company told her on speaker that she was being recorded (the usual message) but at least something. It didn’t help so then they call their manager who tells us our card is bad and gives us an ultimatum to leave now and he will cancel the reservation or to stay for the full time. I asked if we can just stay one night until we make other arrangements (by that time I called all other hotels within walking distance to event I needed to attend they were all booked). He said we either stay the whole time or we cancel. They gave us the room next to the trash cans by the stairs and loud laundry room and said it was the only option. Maybe. To stay we used my parent’s credit card for a deposit, which I didn’t want to do and didn’t want her to be responsible for incidentals. On taking my mom’s card, the lady at the desk rolled her eyes and said “see, that wasn’t so hard was it?” I’m still processing the level of bullying from this place, just hoping everything else goes well. It’s clean and the room is nice, there is on site parking on a first come first served basis. I missed several classes for my event, but they really don’t care and won’t work with you, only try to get rid of you if you call them out on their machines not working. Not sure what the cherry on top is but I’ll continue with—whoever you come with, you’re sleeping under the same blanket with them because the Inn at 50 doesn’t have extra blankets. Asking twice or another staff member doesn’t seem to help. They also weren’t able to locate an extra suitcase stand but that’s not as interesting as the check-in process. And checking out was even worse. The stay was thankfully alright, we were right by the laundry room so there was no no napping in the day from the noise but otherwise comfortable. When we were checking out my mom asked for them to check the room so she can get her deposit back. They said they had to wait for someone to get there. The most important function of a good hotel is to enable a good night’s sleep in a clean and comfortable environment. During our four night stay, the hotel was perfectly quiet. The bed was comfortable. We were not awakened even once by external noises. Our room was immaculately clean. The maid came each day and had our room back in order before noon. We stayed in room 636. It had all the amenities we want from a hotel room. It had a refrigerator, a safe, a large TV, plenty of drawer space, and two comfortable beds. The bathroom had a separate tub, walk in shower, toilet area and sink. This is the largest functional bathroom area of any hotel room that we have seen. The hotel is a green facility. It is off the electric grid, with all power generated from solar panels on the roof. The front desk staff is very efficient, with check in taking about a minute and contactless express check out available. When we needed help with luggage, a staff person was available. When we needed an item we forgot to bring from home, a staff member brought the item to our room quickly. The hotel has a first class Japanese restaurant on the premises known as Ise Shima. It was open for three meal times. Room service is available. We visited for the breakfast buffet, which featured numerous healthy items for a traditional Japanese or American breakfast. We had a perfect experience in the restaurant, too. For the cost of the room, the entire experience is a great value. One can obviously see the great pride the staff has in delivering a perfect hotel experience. The hotel has free parking out front and security at the entrance. A guest cannot take the elevator above the first floor without a room key. The Wi-Fi was free and easy to access. It worked well. A public computer is available on the first floor. A small store also exists, accessible only with a room key. The hotel location is ideal for business or tourists. It is centrally located in the South Bay withi minutes of freeways I-405, I-110, and Route 91. LAX is about 20-25 minutes, downtown LA is less than 30 minutes, Redondo Beach is ten minutes, and Disneyland or Knott’s Berry Farm is about a 45 minute drive. We use the hotel as a base for visit of all attractions in the LA basin.

The property (from the marketing info, is supposed to be a ~100 year old hotel) has the feel of an old-style downtown hotel, unlike the typical roadside hotel/motel which is common today. A few days prior to check-in, I attempted to contact the hotel to confirm my reservation, however there was nobody answering the phone; however, they do respond to text messages. The day you check in, they send you a text message with a link for a form to fill out prior to arrival. However, upon arrival (which was late at night), the desk clerk at check-in was very welcoming and helpful, as were all the desk clerks I interacted with throughout my stay. The room I had (called a full bed studio), was definitely small (compared to modern hotels), however for the price considering the location, was definitely adequate. The room had a microfridge and all the coffee condiments, but surprisingly no coffeemaker. Also, there was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom (besides a bottle of hand soap next to the sink). Housekeeping came to service the room at one point in the stay, something not very common post-COVID. The property is located close to downtown Long Beach, within walking distance of the beach as well as many of the shops and clubs on Broadway. Parking is an additional $18/night, and is in a parking area connected to the alleyway next to the property.

Overall, okay. You get what you pay for: a relatively clean but basic room. The AC was loud but functioned well. Wifi functioned but was slow/spotty when streaming. Bring your own conditioner because they only provide shampoo and soap.

The location is far away from the bustling area, but if you take a cruise at the Port of Los Angeles, it is indeed an excellent choice, and you can walk there in 15 minutes. The breakfast was good, the swimming pool was just closed and I couldn't enjoy it, there was a laundry room, only washing machines and dryers but no washing powder for purchase. You can see the sea view and be close to the warship. There are small shops and many restaurants nearby. There are larger shops and more prosperous areas in about 20 minutes' walk.
